If your annoyed by this, you shouldn’t be running the beta.
Probably some people who shouldn’t have been on the beta to begin with this pop up always happen before the gold master

Turning the calendar back manually one day to yesterday has stopped the pop ups for me.
You’re not supposed to do that it’s will dam

Is this really the Beta experience you'd expect a few weeks before release? It's like Beta 9.

First few Betas? Yeah, I get it. Public Beta this close to release? No, not the experience I'd expect.

Also, Apple markets this as a PUBLIC beta. They know lots and lots of users are going to download to the daily driver.

A wonky animation here or there or something like that? Fine. Expected. This kind of bug? No. Shouldn't happen on something marketed to the public, Beta or not.

Do we all have the same experience? Started an hour or three ago and now appears every time the phone is awoken from sleep?

Yep, everyone is the same. It expired at 8pm EST and any unlock or use of the notifications panel checks for expiry.

It isn’t really a software bug as such. They just set the internal expiry date too early.

Edit: See you replied to the prior post. Yep, someone is wearing the Dunce hat for a week!

iPhone and iPad users who have installed the current iOS 12 beta are being plagued with a continual popup that suggests a new iOS update is available when it's not.

Affected users are seeing the following message: "A new iOS update is now available. Please update from the iOS 12 beta." The problem is users receiving this message are running the most recent version of iOS and there is no additional software to update to.

Beta testers have been seeing this popup since the latest beta was released on August 27, but over the course of the last day, the popups have become much more frequent.

Many users are now seeing the popup every time an iPhone or iPad running the beta is unlocked, and it is a popup that must be manually dismissed each and every time before an iOS device can be accessed.

Developer Guilherme Rambo has suggested that an error in the latest update causes the iOS beta to think that its expiration date is imminent, leading to the popup problem.

Complaints on Twitter and the MacRumors forums are picking up from users who are frustrated with having to continually dismiss the popup, and it's not clear when a fix will be available.

There's not much anyone here can do to help? It's up to Apple to fix their beta am I right?
Yeah, but being a Richard to people who are venting in throws of a really obnoxious situation is close to as annoying as the "bug." CLOSE to. By this much...

Guys, I realize this is a beta and we definitely don't usually point out bugs in betas, but this one is on a massive scale and it's pretty annoying. We had a lot of tweets from people wondering if it was just them, so I wanted to post to let people know that it's a well-known bug that appears to be impacting most if not all beta testers. I've asked Apple when we might expect a fix, and I'll update when I hear back.
Can you post Apple's response? Hopefully not a middle finger emoji...

Ok. So it's not just me. I kept thinking it was an update that hadn’t populated yet, but then that didn’t make sense.

It hasn’t affected anything though. Just a little annoying when I kept looking for something that wasn’t there. Now I know, so I’ll ignore it for now.

I definitely thought it was just me I had been checking constantly all day for update. Thanks for posting this. I’ll wait for apple to fix it with an update hopefully we won’t have to wait till next week as this is very annoying bug

Just so you all know it also effects one of my devices which has 11.4.1 on it. It was previously set up with 11.4.1 beta and then set back to regular iOS and had the beta profile removed. But yes it says the same as this thread with the exception of 11.4.1 rather than 12.

Me thinks this is a server problem at Apple’s end. They probably send messages out to all beta registered devices, regardless of the iOS version installed.

It's coming up non-stop. Very annoying. You would not expect something this extreme to show up so close to the release of the actual update. Somebody dropped the ball on this one big time.

I removed the beta profile and that did not fix it. I reinstalled the profile from the apple beta site and I am still having the issue. Definitely a bug that apple will squash quickly, until then a small issue to deal with while helping apple develope better software.
