So 500 million iPhones to 10 million Pixels? You know a real good comparison of Android vs Apple would be, how many actual Pixel Phones are on Android 10 vs Apple phones on IOS 13

Yes , there are few threads of people having terrible picture ,no airplay from iPad, just the sound etctvOS 13 is actually an improvement over tvOS 12, at least in my brief experience. I had just purchased a new top-end AppleTV 4K, and was not impressed with the new remote and tvOS 12. But when I installed tvOS 13, the experience was vastly improved. Very happy with it.
The upgrade did not install automatically. Was this happening for others without their consent?
So if one trick doesn’t work they try another trick? Right... I’m sure that’s exactly the programming Apple has.😳Apple does all kinds of tricks to make you update. They'll make the update notice look like a password screen, so you enter your password in an attempt to unlock your iPhone to use and next thing you know it will start upgrading overnight cause you just entered your password, confirming the upgrade. Add the constant nagging and you might slip up and upgrade by accident.
Stop being so dramatic. iOS 13 works fine.Big mistake updating to this half baked mess...
You’re really reaching here. You are confused. There is no single version of Android. Each vendor has their own version. So, just like iPhone users are (or are not) on the latest version of Apple's OS, so are, say, Samsung users on the latest version of Samsung OS. You are talking about Google's Android. But this one is targeted only to Google phones. And, Samsung version of Android usually has way more features than the Google's one.
And the other half? Terrible upgrade rates when the updates are free.
So 55% in a few weeks according to this post proves some point about most users not caring about os updates. Seems like the state of mind can’t be proven. Only the results. These apple iOS upgrade rates prove most users don't care about OS updates.
Got a citation for that? Phrased as an opinion only.Meanwhile, this year alone there were more Android phones sold than iPhones sold in the last four years combined. So, in all likelihood there are more Android users on the latest version of Android than iPhone users on iOS 13.
I've never seen a site more full of hatred to a brand they supposedly love. iOS 13 has been great for me so far. Only issue was bluetooth cutting out but that has been fixed in a timely manner. Some of you need to step back and realize things aren't as bad as you make it out to be. Now back to enjoying my super smooth 11 pro max.
Like when you buy a new phone, like when your older phone breaks and you get it replaced in apple store, like when the solution to most problems is "update your phone with latest version on ios" as documented everywhere... Just some examples..Just curious, how was she forced? Auto update is a user option, right? And why exactly is she angry and especially super-angry? What problem(s) has she actually encountered?
Thanks for sharing.
Did they somehow trick you into not looking at the screen you were entering your password into to make sure you were actually unlocking your phone and not, say, upgrading the OS? Do you just enter your iPhone password into any old screen that pops up with a number pad?Apple does all kinds of tricks to make you update. They'll make the update notice look like a password screen, so you enter your password in an attempt to unlock your iPhone to use and next thing you know it will start upgrading overnight cause you just entered your password, confirming the upgrade. I have a Samsung phone. I know. I have plenty of features that Google's Android does not have. These are different OSes (which share a lot of stuff). Samsung is the only official source of OSes for its phones. How would Google's Android support memory cards, S-pen, iris sensor etc? The fact that open source development is involved in the process is interesting but irrelevant. It does create some perceived inefficiencies but it also brings a synergy lacking with iOS. On a feature introduction curve (OLED, NFC, LTE, 5G, widgets, night-shot, multi-window UI, customization etc.) Android is years ahead of iOS so the fact that Google contributions get into Samsung releases with some delay is more than compensated for. Samsung's version of Android might be behind the latest Google version (in some regards) but it is still way ahead of iOS.I’ve seen a lot of various spin used to justify the utterly pathetic state of Android updates, but this one takes the cake.
Are you actually trying to claim that Android on Samsung is a different version? Do you know anything about how Android is licensed to companies (like Samsung)?
Wait, so let me get this straight. Apple "forces" people to upgrade to the latest iOS by: 1) forcing you to buy a new phone. 2) forcing you to break your phone and get a replacement. 3) offering bug fixes and security improvements as a solution to bugs and security issues.Like when you buy a new phone, like when your older phone breaks and you get it replaced in apple store, like when the solution to most problems is "update your phone with latest version on ios" as documented everywhere... Just some examples..
That’s a lot of talk without actually saying anything. Samsung phones run Android. Samsung has to pass the Compatibility Test Suite to ensure their devices can run Apps from Google Play without issues. It’s not some custom version of Android that only runs Samsung Apps.I have a Samsung phone. I know. I have plenty of features that Google's Android does not have. If people had updates forced on them then there wouldn't be variations in the ratio of devices on the new OS from year to year. Some of these updates are people that had the update FORCED on them, like my wife and she is super-angry at this.
Honestly, you can have your features first. I'd rather have features that are not half-baked (to be fixed in a later release) upon release: smart hdr, dynamic hdr in videos, airdrop, facetime, imessage, that android is sorely behind the curve in.I have a Samsung phone. I know. I have plenty of features that Google's Android does not have. These are different OSes (which share a lot of stuff). Samsung is the only official source of OSes for its phones. When did "most" start meaning less than half? These apple iOS upgrade rates prove most users don't care about OS updates.
Forced? How? I have plenty of iDevices still on 12.4.1 with no pushed OTA notification for iOS 13. And the one that received it, I can simply ignore it. Seriously, this whining about Apple forcing the upgrade is tired and old. Some of these updates are people that had the update FORCED on them, like my wife and she is super-angry at this.
Meanwhile apple can't give away free updates.
When there’s a pushed OTA on Android, depending on the OEM, there will be a permanent notification as well. That is if you’re actually getting updates. What’s the point in posting this sort of articles?
People will install the iOS update just to stop the constant reminders from constantly pestering them. Android doesn’t bug you like this so that you install an update just to get rid of the stupid reminders.
