Based on past history, it will be within the last two weeks of this month. It’s still in beta development (beta 4) unless you want to hop on the beta testing pre-release iOS

If iOS 13 is still the same old dated boring design as the past decade, wow Apple is clueless. They will become the next Blackberry in 5 years.
iOS in my opinion sucks, I much prefer stock Android from a Nexus / Pixel or OnePlus phone, one million times over the Fischer Price dated iOS. But Apple could make it better, by making standard the top 20 most downloaded Jailbreak tweaks as a start.
But if they intend to keep the ugly icons and stale mess of a design for another ten years, LOL, they deserve to hurt.

No one here knows anything. All we can do is speculate on what's been leaked over the last several months. We will know when Apple tells us on June 3rd. That said, rumors are pointing towards some visual tweaks and changes, mostly focused on iPad. Based on these rumors it looks like iOS 13 will be a bigger visual change than 11 & 12 were, but not nearly as large of a change as 7 was.

We don’t *know* anything. And, even if the rumors are 100% accurate, they only tell us what they know, which may not be everything.

The thing about apple rumors are, these are 99% correct all the time. Early mockups of new iphone prototypes are always mostly correct, so are the ios rumors. We will get a dark mode this year.

This is truly a dumb post. First off, millions have invested a lot of money in the iOS environment, so whether Apple redesigns the UI is of little consequence, especially in the short term to their bottom line or customer loyalty. Secondly, Apple has redesigned iOS and the base apps over the course of every software releases—maybe not the core UI, but design and functionality changes nonetheless. And finally, why would you want to actually see Apple take a hit to their bottom line and, subsequently, their users, just because you personally think Apple needs to dramatically overhaul the look of an operating system? That’s like saying that just because YOU haven’t liked special sauce on a Big Mac for 50 years, and unless McDonald’s should swap it out with ketchup just to make YOU happy, McDonald’s should rot? Some—if not most—don’t care, because they purchase and use iOS products as they are familiar to them. Comments like yours are simple-minded and hidden behind zero thought process.

If ios/at least the ipad could download a rar file, extract it and copy it to external drives.. my pc would be useless.

Yes!! And a better file management in Files app. The Files app is ok (better than nothing) but lacks those basic features... I'm more than ready to eliminate those additional steps on those third-party apps just for extracting / editing 'common' formats.

Yeah Apple should add that but they are way late. Gboard and others have already had it for ages.

This was a very well-made concept. I hope Apple adopts all of this and more. I have big hopes for iOS 13.

I mean that’s kind of their way of operating and in some cases, this being one of them, it’s worth the wait. The one trade off with Apple but at the same time, they often implement features better than what Android does. Face ID is a perfect example.

Definitely, Apple does things thoroughly and does not haste. Don't be hasty so to speak. Nonetheless, in this keyboard case, they are too late. Especially in Sweden, they haven't even enabled Quicktype suggestions here so the built-in keyboard, though it is probably best from a privacy standpoint, is just unusable here. I have deleted it so it only pops-up in password fields.
Just curious, how do you justify the wait for this swipe keyboard? What will it do better than for example GBoard? Is it just the privacy? Because Google do not send what you type anywhere anyway according to them. If you trust them or not is up to each and every person of course.

I wouldn't say I'm necessarily justifying it. I agree with you that it's been too long. But it was one of those features that I actually just assumed Apple was never going to touch, so when I saw in on the rumor mill, I got excited. And knowing Apple, if they do release it, they'll probably do it in a way where it does 1 or 2 things that Gboard and other Swipe options don't do. What those are, who knows?

I hope you're right and that the Apple keyboard becomes touchscreen keyboard king. I certainly think it will be as good, or close to, as good as Gboard. However, will it be better and bring something new to the table? We'll have to wait and see.
I’m pretty sure Google does send what you type back to Google, at least the new words you add to your dictionary. Can you provide source that says they don’t send this?

I have never heard of that guy but his Twitter profile says he works at Apple. I understand his argument and believe it to be true, swiping is not better than tapping in user interaction. Nonetheless, I believe his argument to be dubious because there’s no reason the keyboard can’t do both at the same time. It is not like swiping and tapping are mutually exclusive.
Google themselves say: “If you turn on Full Access, you can use Google Search in your keyboard. Your searches will be sent to Google, but nothing else will be shared.”

That "guy" created the Apple keyboard. I'd say his opinion carries a little bit of weight in this discussion. 🙂

Oh I did not know that. I have very little keyboard knowledge.
Kocienda did create a great keyboard. 10 years ago. Things have evolved since then and Apple is seriously lagging behind because as I said, why can’t the keyboard support both swiping and tapping? It doesn’t matter much to me though, Apple never has to add swipe functionality really since they started allowing third party keyboards that do it instead.
