Hey You Tube... the more petty BS and annoying ads you assault me with, convinces me I’m right in saying I will never, ever, ever pay a subscription to use your app.
No it works on the mobile website too. I use it on my iPhone.I’m guessing that just works on desktop though? I think many consume YT primarily on their iDevices.
they do the same on android, but you can have the functionality by using third-party browsers (like Edge), or third-party apps that you can find on non-google "app-stores" (like f-droid) or download from the internet and sideload.YT better watch out—if it does this on Android (haven’t been on Android in a couple of years other than a Samsung tablet I don’t use frequently) but they block it on the iPhone that “M” word that’s been thrown at Apple at lot lately will probably be coming at them next.
Try browsing youtube videos through Duckduckgo and it should work.
Was just going to say this. It does work
Works when using Desktop mode and DuckDuck Go
On the contrary, it is your browser, and their markup and scripting are only suggestions: if you want to, you can render the page however you like. That's the same underlying principle as ad blocking, removing tracking gifs, using custom CSS, and all the other things people do with their browsers.Apples to oranges. Each website has the right to choose how to implement the native functionality of the device it’s being accessed from.
I get it that it’s your device, but at the end of the day, you are the one accessing their website.
Some forums, for example, restrict uploading media to paying members. Uploading files is also a native feature.
I mean I agree with most people here, I think blocking pip is annoying, but the web is free and google has the right to do it.

Try adguard with safari mobile. Im surprised how well it works. The free version seems even open source.Yeah, YT on a phone is annoying trash - it's all about trying to make sure you're watching those ads. Unbelievably awesome on a laptop though, especially w adblocker installed (oh, and I can turn the screen brightness to zero and it still works, ha). Result - I rarely bother w it on my phone, but binge on it regularly on my laptop.
I dont know about Safari, but for the Google Chrome app, request desktop version of youtube. It will start to work.
