Apple has been so piss poor in recent years with software releases and bugs. I mean, this is basic functionality with CarPlay,.. Did they not TEST it???

So far so good for iOS 15 and CarPlay with my iPhone 11 Pro Max. No issues for me with either of my vehicles that have CarPlay.

my only issue predates iOS 15 and that is sometimes I have to reconnect the phone to get the car stereo to recognize that a CarPlay device has been connected — both my aftermarket Alpine deck and my Nissan sometimes don’t notice when I connect my iPhone — but nothing about that is new. Just reseating the lightning dock connection fixes it.

I installed the 15.1 beta 1 on my new iPhone 13 pro max right out of the box; never had this problem with music.

In fact, I've been having the opposite problem with iOS 15 on both my old iPhone X and iOS 15.1 beta 1 on both phones: CarPlay will randomly start playing music off my music app even if I'm listening to the FM radio and not even in CarPlay. It'll just silence the radio and push the music through. This problem may be gone now with iOS 15.1 beta 2, will need another day or two to test.

Had the issue myself and I was able to solve it by disabling the EQ in Settings/Music on the iPhone.
My 13 ProMax arrives today looking on my 12 it is turned off so maybe I will avoid this problem on my 13 after the transfer from 12.

iPhone8 on IOS15 Blue Tooth cuts in and out and sometimes stops working in my car. I do not have EQ turned on.

Absolutely!

Step 1: Turn on car
Step 2: Connect iPhone
Step 3 - VERIFY: CarPlay starts
Step 4: Disconnect iPhone
RESULT: Test Successful. Ready for Release.

Man smartworking really showed things cannot be done remotely.

iOS 15 has been released with missing features and the one not missing are bugged.
Yup, and they complain they wanna keep on working from home.
Like The HELL NO you don't especially with iOS15 coming out like this!

Conspiracy Theory: bugs were introduced on purpose by Craig Federighi in person to make this point and force the employees to come back to the HQ.

Ugh, I have an annoying bug on CarPlay with my iPhone 13 pro Max whenever I want to make a phone call I get this error "Last Line No Longer Available Do you want to call using your remaining line"

Well thats just charming!

Still need to set my CarPlay back up and will see if I have the issue later!

I wouldn't say that "things cannot be done remotely"; that's a bit too comprehensive and over-arching. There is, however, no doubt that remote work compromises some key elements of collaboration that likely contributed to quality issues.

Sorry for the double post.

These are release versions of the software and hardware, not beta versions.
Yea I think the OP is being sarcastic. This is supposed to be polished official release version, yet it is performing like a beta version

is it me or do the last couple of releases 13--15 seem to have a quality decline? We get told by Apple the "lack of major new features" is due to quality and stability improvements behind the scenes, yet lately sure doesn't feel like that.
No it’s not you. Plus 14 and 15 have been released while all the employees are “working” from home. GET THEM BACK IN THE OFFICE! They clearly need oversight. You don’t get the whine about this stuff as an Apple employee when pushing out garbage ,buggy releases the last couple cycles. I’d cut them some slack if they were really knocking it out of the (apple)park, but they aren’t.

I have not had this issue, but if I try to make a call, it says "last line not available" Do you want to call using your remaining line? (I only have one line)
I had this also. This has to do with a change in SIM (or going from SIM to eSIM). It only affects callers in your recent callers. The quick fix is to clear your recent callers.

The whole purpose of Beta programs and allowing general users to do non-released software is to uncover these bugs before production. Do people not test stuff like this? I wonder why these things aren't discovered earlier

I am having this exact same issue! It's so annoying.
Also

@Rob198612 & @dalstarz25 - if you go clear all your calls in recents, it takes the problem away. This has happened in the past too; has something to do with if you call someone who is in your recents that was called with your old phone it pops up the error. So, once it's cleared, it doesn't pull up that data anymore. Bizarre issue, but that's how you fix it.

Happen on my 2021 Honda Accord Sport 2..0T with wireless apple carplay, I ended up do a factory reset on the car and now it works perfectly, it even loads up on my car about 5seconds into it turning on, much faster than before.
