i'm just testing up the new. Dictation features. The smart punctuation works pretty well. But every once in a while. It adds an extra period where it shouldn't. Even that last sentence haha.

Yeah, it definitely is a little period happy lol. Hopefully they keep working at this, because otherwise it works quite well.

Its still way too complicated to only set a home screen wallpaper and not set a picture for both lock screen and home screen. They really need to simplify this or they'll have tons of complains when iOS 16 will release. Its ridiculous to have difficulty just to set a separate wallpaper for the home screen.

Anyone use the FanDuels, DraftKings, etc of the world? Mine, won’t check my location properly and says I’m using a jailbroken phone or location spoofing. Anyone have a way to fix this?

The developer will need to fix that. Their code checks for known versions of iOS. Anything not allowed (most likely version higher than iOS 15.x) the developer is treating as problematic. Many banking apps have also had the same issue in the past. The devs will need to modify the code to recognize iOS 16.x as legit for this one to go away.

I think that's exactly what the bug is, you re-pair or restore the same watch and the Health app thinks it's new. Perhaps there are virtual devices in the system and everything works as it should, but it contradicts things in the real world.

This always been the case though? Not exclusive to iOS 16. I had this happen all the way back to the Series 0 days

On the first pair of beta (iOS 16 / watchOS 9), I couldn't add a card to the Apple Watch wallet even after that card was successfully added to the iPhone and iPad wallets.
The second round of beta seems to have fixed that bug :)

How is everyone getting a phone battery icon for their widget? All I get is a watch one that changes to my airpod pros. I don’t get a phone battery option.

We covered this on the B1 thread.
Go into customize mode, place a battery widget then double tap on it. Turn it off automatic with the toggle. Now you should be able to select iPhone battery as an option because it's not automatically reading Airpods or watch.

They removed the "Posterboard" app you could access in Shortcuts to play with (a very early and broken) version of the custom home screens on iPadOS. Might mean nothing, might mean this one isn't going to make it to iPad in the iOS 16 cycle. Be a shame if doesn't as I'm really enjoying this feature on the phone and watch

Lock Screen still won’t “hide” widgets behind wallpaper objects.

Both macOS and iPadOS will not play audio on their internal speakers when using an iRig Pro I/O.
It‘s not supposed to hide lock screen widgets, where did you see / head that? Would defeat the purpose of widgets.

Anyone see "SleepLockScreen" in iCloud storage? Always on display confirmed for iPhone 14? :D
More likely to be the new lock screen customization backing up.

The new lock screen is not happening in iPadOS 16, they would‘ve added it to the features page as coming soon / fall / next year like they always do with features that come out later. The complete absence of any lockscreen customization feature info pretty much confirms that this is not happening with this release.

It‘s home screen widgets all over again (introduced with iOS 14 but took till iPadOS 15 to appear on iPads).

I am not sure if this is exclusive to iOS 16 but every time I open an App like Booking where I actually have some bookings, followed by the Calendar app, Siri keeps asking me to add the very same booking to the calendar. Quite annoying like YES THANKS but I already added it 10 suggestions ago.

Optimized charging is working again. Although not perfectly as can be seen in this screenshot...I don't get up at 5am, not until 8am normally.

I don't think this is related to beta 1 or 2. For me, it started working again the night before beta 2 already.
After every major update, iOS re-learn your charging habits and it can take a while (1-2 weeks in my experience) before optimized charging starts again.

Over night battery looks like it's off to a good start. No drastic battery drain.

And the weather widget screen off battery drain seems to have gone. See light blue tabs prior to beta 2 on the left of the chart. This is really positive to see for beta 2 already.

Looks like it's partly related to ios 16. With Beta 1 optimized charging wasn't working at all for me. Now it is working again with Beta 2. But as you say probably needs to re-learn charging habits...

In beta 1 my Apple Watch was unable to re-pair to my Airpods Pro. I had to tap forget on the watch, put them in pairing mode by long pressing the back button and re-pairing them.

This is fixed in beta 2.
