RAM management seems abysmal on this beta. I can’t help but agree with a comment I read the other day on here which stated that basically all iPads and iPhones should have at least twice the memory with which they ship. Apps and Safari tabs are constantly reloading which just soaks up more of the already sparse battery life of my 13 mini.

Now that it has been a few days, how has the battery been for both standby and while using the device? Has anyone notice if it needs a day or two to settle before battery life increases?

Battery has been quite a bit worse for me. Heats up more too. I expected this for a new iOS tbf… 13 pro.

I can’t seem to figure out how to put a different wall on the Home Screen than the Lock Screen. When selecting a pic the template for the lock screen pops up. Is this still a bug? I tried the methods reported in previous posts but still get the template for the Lock Screen getting in the way every time.
Edit: Got it finally

Damn. Trying to charge my nearly-dead 13 mini with a fully-charged battery pack after work and after going up a few percentage points the battery is refusing to charge. It’s like half the time the phone can barely eke anything out of the pack on this beta.

I am looking for date stamping apps which put date / time / location stamps on front of photos on iOS just like the DSLR cameras. This feature should have been added in iOS 16.
App Suggestions ?

Sounds like the infamous Beta 3 has struck again … 😂.

Battery is the same for me.
Buggy lockscreen all gone.
Phone doesn’t get warm when on charge and in CarPlay now.

I honestly wouldn't know I was on a beta. Phones performing very smooth. Loving this beta.

I would recommend to people who have a few glitches to reinstall the beta to see what clears up.

That's old fashioned when EXIF data contains this info already.

You'd need a third party tool to do that, either on the phone or whatever routine you're using to upload/host your photos that uses exif data as part of that process. Not relevant to this thread - try https://forums.macrumors.com/forums/digital-photography.83/

Think that was the quickest I've ever restored back to a previous OS version, I did a IPSW update to beta 3 and my health data was completely missing, nothing was showing up. Restored back down to 15.6 and it's all back now.
Try an OTA. I’ve done it twice now and no issues with Health. The one time I lost Health data was actually downgrading from a X.0 release and I was never able to recover that data. Glad you didn’t suffer the same fate.

I’ve tried a OTA too with the same result both the health and fitness apps have literally no data in them, when I click browse on the health app there are no catagories.

It’s weird as I’ve not been able to find anyone else with the same issue. I wonder if updating to beta 1 or 2 first might help.

I’m back on 15.6 beta 4 and all my health data from the past 6 years is intact.

Why go back to 15.6, should of tried a restore with your encrypted back up using 16 b3 first, see if that didn’t work.

Then go back to 15.6 if it didn’t.

Download ios 16 b3 IPSW file.
Hold alt/option key.
Click restore button
Then select the IPSW file.
Phone restores using the beta iOS and then uses your encrypted back up.

Perfect. The one thing I’d add is trying a previous beta will only cost you time as once a new beta is released the previous build will no longer be signed by Apple.

I’ve been doing this a long time and can say my success rate for OTA updates would sit in the high 90s. Of course some will have issues considering how many hundreds of millions of devices are using iOS but the chances for the individual are low and it’s just easier.

Youre not trying the previous. Your restoring onto the same beta. See if that works.

This annoys you? But people writing pigeon English on here doesn’t.

Life’s to short buddy. Let it go.

I honestly thought you of all people would know it was a joke, clearly I was wrong.

But to keep OT it’s running pretty well on my IPP 2021. But don’t think I’ll ever like Stage Manager

@gwhizkids Ok, I know where this picture is from! I just happened to stumble across it this morning as I was perusing all the posts I missed for the past two weeks and forgot about it until just now seeing this again. It's APOD's APOD on 4Jul this year. But, you must've looked at it I guess. Here's the original link. https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap220704.html
