So I didn’t attend the developers event, but I noticed that iOS 16 requires me to turn on a development mode to launch the app I developed.

I guess developer certificates aren’t enough anymore.

My battery life has not gotten any better since I installed this last night. Are y’all seeing improvements? My 13 pro max is draining like crazy when I’m using it

My battery is definitely better on my 13. Yesterday being the download day I got pretty poor battery life. Today It’s excellent, very pleased with it I presume you’ve tried a hard reset?

My battery life has not been great in forever and yes my battery is also fairly new (100%) but at least it is no longer getting super hot on this beta.

My solution: turn off the % indicator and just think that u can charge your phone back to 80% in no time when needed. My biggest issue has always been the obsession about the % dropping.

Here is what I see.
Messages to me have them. I just don’t have them to select.

It is there for you, just with a changed skin tone. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I had the battery drain issue coupled with the phone being warm. I found that restarting the phone, after the update was applied, resolved the issue. I tend to do that after any update.

Hi everyone,
After updating to iOS 16 beta 7, I received this warning from my iPhone stating it could not determine whether my camera was a genuine Apple part or not.
Essentially, I remember opening the camera app upon updating because I was about to take a picture and it just showed a void screen as if the camera app crashed. I did a quick respring and then the iPhone immediately showed this Important Camera Message — Unknown Part.
The camera app still works though.

It didn’t happen with previous betas and I never changed the part anyways.

Will reverting back to iOS stable allow for the message to disappear or is that message part of a subsystem where it never disappears once triggered?

Thanks a lot for your help,

I’d try reverting. Hopefully that does the trick. No guarantees but fingers crossed.

Did you buy the phone new?

Thank you for your message.
I bought the phone new, absolutely. All parts are genuine.
If I were to guess I would say the camera app crashed and it tricked the system into thinking the part was either defective or not genuine.
I will keep you posted after I reverted back to see if the message is gone.

Google is your friend: https://www.macrumors.com/how-to/downgrade-from-ios-16-to-ios-15/

As a general rule, never install a beta unless you know how to revert and have made an encrypted backup first. If you didn’t make an encrypted backup, you may lose data.
Thank you. I didn't back up (normally I do) so if I revert, will I lose all the pictures I took on the phone that aren't backed up? What else would I lose?

All my other stuff is on ioud, so that isn't an issue.

No you should not lose anything that ordinarily backs up, in-app, to the cloud. If you normally back up photos they’ll still be there. But you might lose any health data that has been recorded since you went on the beta. It’s not as bad as it used to be if you don’t back up first but still it’s a best practice.

Definitely better battery here. 86% instead of 70% when I got home, and I even went to the grocery store on the way home.
