Indeed. This latest RC has bastardized the somewhat perfect betas leading up to it, this battery drain is awful. My phone has been burning up even with the screen on. I keep getting bugs and crashes, and fragments of "Dynamic Island" when I rotate the phone in Siri search function.

Never had this issue leading up to this RC version.

Reinstall the RC or wait and install the official build via IPSW tethered. I’ve been there with battery, connectivity, screen, keyboard etc issues and this has cleaned/cleared it up.

I only do encrypted local backups, no iCloud, this is still not working and I’ve seen other people mentioning the same
I use itunes in windows 10 for encrypted backups and it continues to make backups without problems in iOS 16. Another thing is to restore the system, which seen what we have seen, windows users will not be able to do it out of the box, because apple has decided it was too much work to enable iOS 16 support earlier. that taking into account that it is not closing that possibility through its servers.

Surprised third party lock widgets are out for RC… (Carrot for me)

Why? The Lock Screen widgets only require that Apple approve those apps compiled using the most recent version of Xcode and having the widget enabled. I’ve had at least one since Friday. Apple usually starts allowing apps incorporating the new features shortly after the RC is released.

That’s exactly the reason why people on Windows have iTunes issues whilst using a x.0 beta until the x.0 public release comes out. Mac’s can only work with it by getting a file from Xcode beta install, which backs up this theory.
that's fine during the beta cycle, but considering that we're talking about official release now, a serious company would have updated their program a few days earlier, so that people don't have problems launching the new iOS. launching that update and the system at the same time seems incomprehensible to me, especially considering that apple "takes care" of its users, or so it says. that without taking into account that perhaps it is closing the possibility via its servers, because I was able to decrypt beta 2 of ios 16 and apple servers denied me the installation, but it was only this beta, in the following ones it already asked me to update itunes.

For some reason I thought Apple wouldn’t allow this until Xcode was officially released. (Not an Xcode RC version)…

Nah. They want as many apps updated for launch day as possible. Otherwise they’ll get: “where are my third party Lock Screen widgets?” from the users

Considering that probably 95%+ of users upgrade over the air, I don’t think this is the problem you think it may be. And if they update iTunes before 10 am Pacific Daylight Time, they’ve made the deadline haven’t they? No need to do it one second earlier.

It starts with them making it a non-priority because it’s only 5% of people who care about it, and then that’s when they take away features or drop support entirely. If there ever comes a point where I can’t do local device backups and tethered updates - I am O U T. Not that I’ll switch to Android of course. But I will stop upgrading or updating iPhones.

Been in the Carrot beta TestFlight group for over a year... been playing with the Carrot Lock Screen widgets throughout the iOS 16 beta run... good stuff, Maynard!

I've also seen updates from WidgetSmith and Pedometer+ so far...

So, you don't consider Apple "a serious company"? #mindblown

How’s the stability of this RC on iPhone 13 PM? Any breaking bugs or battery drain?

I’m sure it’s much fewer than 5%. I just used that as a fudge factor.

And good luck not updating.

And as you pointed out to me in another thread yesterday:

Have you opened the app from the Home Screen first? After you have opened the app once, it should appear in the widget selection screen.

I wouldn't say that such a large percentage updates by OTA to large versions of the system, because many people I know take advantage of it to do their annual restoration of the device. furthermore, to speak of a percentage on this is to speculate, and all to justify apple's reluctance with windows users, of which we are not a few. It limits us at the same time that it does not offer us solutions or tools to do things, after that because software like 3utools or imazing are so famous, and it is because of the null interest of apple in windows.

you think there are few users who have iphone and use windows that, if things don't improve in the next 35-40 minutes, they won't be able to update their phone if they wanted to with itunes because apple hasn't updated it yet to support it. If I use tools with 3utools, they tell us that it is better to use the official apple method, but what do we do when the official apple method does not work?

Again, do you think that Apple is not “a serious company”?
