I'd really give it a couple days to settle down. As @gwhizkids said in #415 - performance of the phone is hampered the first day or so. There's often a lot of indexing of files and other background work that the iPhone does to improve global search, etc. (and with the machine learning for Siri being local, it's quite likely there's a lot of processing to get "her" knowledge sorted).12pro, battery destroyed, notifications a mess (missing lots as they don’t show, no matter how I swipe the Lock Screen), and the big one that’s hitting the battery and also means I am missing calls and texts…Vodafone UK signal drops out constantly! Reboots & resets make no difference. I have raised bugs via feedback to Apple.
Looking to downgrade to 15.7 today, it’s not stable enough for my main device
Yup! Not the best selection of the apps but nevertheless she tried. After experimenting with different Focus Mode/Lock Screen /Home Screen setups all summer, I’ve started building my working Focus modes/Lock and Home Screen combos.
During the betas and as recounted in Federico Viticci’s iOS 16 review (more of a user guide really and an excellent read), the focus mode setup page should suggest dedicated Home Screens populated with appropriate apps. E.g., a work Home Screen suggested page could have the Mail, messages, MS Office, OmniFocus and Fantastical apps populated. But I don’t get any suggested pages. Just an offer to use pages I’ve already set up.
Is anyone else seeing Suggested pages?

Home Upgrade Available
Home has been updated with a new underlying architecture that will improve the performance of your home.
Upgrade {HomeName}
Complete the steps to upgrade your home and take advantage of improved performance and reliability of the accessories in your home.
A home hub is required to take advantage of features like receiving accessory notifications and allowing other people to control your home. You will not be able to view shared homes until those homes are also upgraded to the latest HomeKit. iPad will no longer be supported as a home hub.
Software Update Required
New features will be available once every HomePod in this home has been updated to the latest software.
That's interesting as all get out: do you suppose it might be a premature indication of the Thread rollout?Sporadically, the Home app in iPadOS 16.1 is offering to upgrade the underlying HomeKit architecture in Home Settings > Software Update
Tapping ‘Learn More’ pops a new splash screen with further details:

I only have one HomePod mini and it’s fully updated with the HomePod Beta Updates toggled both on and off so it seems Apple haven’t pushed the necessary HomePod beta update yet and the update prompt was pushed prematurely.
In mixed groups, you will almost always see the Tapback messages spelled out rather than as "bubbles"I had read articles before the release of iOS 16 that claimed it changed how reactions were handled in SMS. I've updated to iOS 16 on my iPhone, but I'm still getting "Loved an image" texts. This is a group chat of mixed iPhone and Android users so maybe it only works in 1-on-1 chats. I don't see a mention of this fix in the iOS 16 messages listing in this wiki, anyone have any info on this? Thank you.
You are definitely in the right place! Not sure if I'm in the correct thread or not -
But is anyone here still NOT able to download 16 onto their iPhone?
My son has a 13 Pro Max
Plenty of space, space is not an issue
Wifi is not an issue
Is connected to a power cord
Cannot download 16 onto his phone.
Will get prompted that 16 is available for download.
Download begins, about 1/2 way it just stops.
Is there something I can try or a toggle I'm not seeing?
Everyone one else in the house was able to d/l 16 with zero problems.
Thanks
You are definitely in the right place!
It may be that the initial download was corrupted. Follow the instructions about halfway through the page I link to below to clear the cache from the prior download and try again. Hope that helps!

How to stop an iOS update that has already started downloading
Do you need to stop an iOS update that has already started downloading? This brief tutorial shows you how to do just that.www.idownloadblog.com
That's it. Hope that's the problem and this resolves it. If not, come on back and we can provide whatever other assistance we can.Ok so just to confirm,
Need to go into storage and delete the possible ios16 corrupted file and then try again, right?
I'll give it a go later today and let you know if it worked!
Thanks!!
It’s really the lack of ability to connect to cell towers that’s the issue here. It’s killing the battery more than any normal background upgrade activity and means I can’t get texts or calls. Coupled with odd (unexpected?) behaviour with notifications this means I am missing the basics of what the phone is supposed to do 🤦🏻♂️I'd really give it a couple days to settle down. Thanks, I must have misunderstood the articles leading up to this release. In mixed groups, you will almost always see the Tapback messages spelled out rather than as "bubbles"
You can delete the carrier settings, so they're pushed back down again. (reset network settings)It’s really the lack of ability to connect to cell towers that’s the issue here. I will try the reinstall later, but suspect the carrier update is the cause of inconsistent connectivity, so not sure if that’s something that can be resolved
Yeah, I reset network settings in the hope that would be the case. No difference. You can delete the carrier settings, so they're pushed back down again. (reset network settings)
Are you not using Wifi? Most carriers support UMA/GAN (putting your carrier context over Wifi) - make sure the wifi calling option is enabled in your carrier settings.
I can not wait for this upgrade. I love HomeKit. I just wish it was a little more feature right when doing automations.Sporadically, the Home app in iPadOS 16.1 is offering to upgrade the underlying HomeKit architecture in Home Settings > Software Update

well, I am restoring from ispw and have no mobile signal during setup, so this doesn't bode well!Yeah, I reset network settings in the hope that would be the case. No difference.
Also, I can’t be on Wi-Fi all the time, but when at home yes I have Wi-Fi calling (but it doesn’t support sms texts so I still miss those, which includes my company 2fa)

You will be able to expor them to other FIDO framework members: Microsoft, Google Android, etc. This is wonderful. Apple can lock you in even more effectively in their ecosystem, since you cannot export the passkeys, and they can track every passkey-enabled website you visit through the public key authentication which is done on their servers.
