Also take note everytime I do a big upgrade for some reason bluetooth is turned on by default. You may benefit from a hard reset. That can clear up some battery drain and some cell connectivity issues (especially if it connected in iOS 15).

Just went to my sons phone.
Followed the steps.
There is no ios16 file
Yeah, agree that usually helps clear some issues, but here it only resolved connectivity for a few mins before it dropped out again. Signal does sometimes come back itself, but quickly drops out again. You may benefit from a hard reset. Did you do the things I suggested in the other thread?Just tried to download 16 again and like the past 2 days, I got another error message.
Software Update Failed
Error occurred d/ling 16.
Anything else I can try?

Then I would restore your child's phone and see if that helps.Yes I did.
the iOS 16 file did not show up in the iPhone storage
Try to update using iTunes, it’s proving to be a much more reliable method than OTAJust tried to download 16 again and like the past 2 days, I got another error message.

I love that one has a full album cover in lockscreen when listening to music but the volume bar has gone. Even when I change the volume with buttons I don't see any indications of the volume level as before. I have to unlock to see it.
Yeah this is really, really, really annoying. I’m kinda astounded they’d get rid of the volume control on the Lock Screen. It shows up if I’m Air Playing something to a HomePod or AirPort Express. But once I play anything on my AirPods or Bluetooth speakers the volume bar is gone.
It’s pretty infuriating and makes no sense to me. I’m definitely going to be politely complaining to Apple.
Well I do that but still want to see the volume level.I agree with you, and I know this doesn’t make up for it, but as a temporary fix, can you just not use the volume buttons on the phone itself?
Every upgrade, iOS or MacOS, turns bluetooth on. Has done for years. I turn it off after every one. Also take note everytime I do a big upgrade for some reason bluetooth is turned on by default.

I'll try the iTunes route this evening.
Completely forgot about iTunes.
Now don't anyone laugh or giggle -
Gotta go on YouTube for a tutorial on installing iOS on your iPhone.
It's been soooo long I forgot, LOL

There may be one more thing you can try before resorting to a restore. I believe that there is a different method for updating via USB on MacBooks now, iTunes isn’t used anymore like it still is on Windows. Someone here probably has more familiarity with specifically how USB updates are done on Macs now.Just tried installing using iTunes.
When I connected the iPhone to the MacBook, the message I got on iTunes
was that the iPhone had the latest update, 15.7
16 was not an option.
I don't mind restoring if that's what I have to do.
Just want that to be the last option / step if possible.
im not having this bug but saw someone else complain. Is this just an Iphone 13 thing?Since installing iOS16 on my 13 Pro max, I have noticed I keep getting the message that the phone stops charging until its tempurature goes down. Im using wireless charging and sometimes the screen is on (Im using the phone), but it has not done this before.
I think it is a bug as the phone feels pretty cool to the touch.
I was on the iOS 16 public beta, and I installed the most recent version of iOS 16. I removed the beta profile. Software Update shows “iOS 16.0 is up to date”. I’m getting the 14PM tomorrow. Is my current 13 PM on the full non-beta version of iOS 16?
