Battery seems good, even better than 15.7 but there’s some hiccups and glitches all round.

Do you guys think it would be worth it to move iPadOS into its own category and pinning it up separately from iOS?

I’ve thought about that as well. We’re getting close to enough feature disparity to warrant that. But I’d wait until iOS 17.

Did my SIM to eSIM conversion this morning (trying to get ahead of the when phones starting getting delivered). Painless for the most part, but I am having trouble sending messages from phone from someone on Verizon (I’m on AT&T). Messages to AT&T customers go through fine. Phone works (phew!).

FYI for anyone getting a new phone tomorrow.

Could be a long day…

Dang its going to a real long day for me then since I wont have my phone today until I get off work then I have to update it through Mac then set it up. Good grief …

In my experience the trickiest bit is moving eSIM from one phone to another, with some carriers forcing people to visit their physical stores to move their eSIM lines over. They justify this by “extra security”, yet it makes the process of switching the phone much more cumbersome, compared to simply swapping the physical SIM. I hope that with increased number of iPhones going eSIM route this year the carriers will be forced to up their game and make it more straightforward. They could just put the eSIM QR codes required to activate eSIMs in our client spaces online, after all it is 2022! 🤞

I noticed today that I no longer have gapless playback on CarPlay after updating to iOS 16. Has anyone seen this? Is there a fix, or an option I don't know about?

until yesterday, the truth is that the system worked well. I restored from 0 on tuesday to start clean in ios 16, and today suddenly the whole system seems to have gone crazy: any action that it required, was executed with seconds of delay or was not executed at all. I had to force restart twice to get it back to normal. safari also started to stop working randomly, it shows the webs, but it's like the screen stopped working and i can't browse the webs. only with two or three closures from the multitasking it works again, even if it is momentary.
On the other hand, the energy consumption is excellent, I hope that today is something isolated.

Here’s an interesting one from shortcuts. A deprecation notice:

Thanks for mention. I was surprised that they revamped the UI of shortcuts and they seem to execute faster.

Does “duplicate” option was there present before? Below example from my shortcut to log and get notification if I drunk more than 2000ml of water and less than 2400 per day (to prevent spam). Automatically when added water on or demand (last option)

No such issue. The phone picks up the new 16.0.1 update very quickly and installs it immediately, while it was doing that my watch started trilling asking if I wanted to pair it to new phone. It paired up before the phone was ready to finish the 16.0.1 installation. No computer needed. As long as you’re not on a public WiFi I can’t see anyone having issues. Took about 30 minutes total for me.

Is this a bug?

When setting a new wallpaper and going for a custom color with the color picker, shouldn't the screen show the full image so we can pick the color we want from anywhere? When I click the color picker icon, the color palette disappears but the screen still shows the font selection screen, which means the bottom of the image can't be sampled...

iOS 16.0 on a 12 Pro

Happens to anyone?

I have to say I am happy with iOS 16 on iPhone 13 Pro. For me bug free.
I have to agree with this. I'm so pleasantly surprised with lack of problems; understand many are having problems though.

Agree with @Mania89 that auto-complete seems to be wonky. Perhaps completely reset from previous learning? Dictation too produced unexpected results. Even some oddities with Siri. Me: "Tell Cathy hooray" Siri: "I don't see Cathy Hooray in your contacts."

I see basically the same battery performance as before on 13 Pro... which has never been super.

Small irritation, but why, oh why, can't I customize my existing wallpaper? Instead you have not dig up the original photo and recreate it. Needless frustration.

Incidentally, I installed from IPSW, but that wasn't as easy as it should have been. macOS would not load the update necessary to talk to iPhone....

When in the music app and I’m trying to airplay to speakers it won’t let select anything but the first option in the list. It will however let me do it from the control center.

Since I’m staying off the 16.1 beta I’ll post this here: the Dynamic Island + Apple TV + Apple TV remote is a killer combination. Makes the remote so much more usable. It’s sprays available, either on the Lock Screen in Always On mode or on the DI. Always just a touch away.

Have not experienced this. Airplay working normally. I have about 6 speakers available and have been selecting the last one since day 2. Last two days selecting multiple speakers without issue.

Restart device; restart Home hub(s)? Are HomePods/ATVs updated?

Anyone getting random disconnects/reconnects from wireless CarPlay? I didn't notice it with the 13 pro on ios16, but for whatever reason it's happening with my 14 pro max. I deleted and re-added the phone and did a hard restart on my phone.

I just restarted my phone. We shall see.

I have sonos speakers. I just find it weird that I can only select the first speaker on the list and if I try to select the others it keeps selecting the first one. Again this doesn’t happen all the time. But I’ve seen it happen in the music app

But since it doesn’t do it from control panel it’s likely a music app bug

Has anyone else experienced low call volume in CarPlay with iOS 16 and the iPhone Pro/Pro Max? My girlfriend and I are both experiencing it with our respective iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max.

Is there a fix for the “Bold/Italic/Underlined/etc etc” not working anymore?
Mark text by holding and drag down to mark text in a iMessage or other msg programs not working.

I wish I’ve not updated to iOS 16…..

You’ve never been able to italicize or underline or otherwise format text in the Messages app.

It’s working for me where I expect it to work (Mail, Notes, etc…). You may want to restart your phone to see if that fixes things. If not try a reinstall of iOS 16.
