Has anyone else experienced low call volume in CarPlay with iOS 16 and the iPhone Pro/Pro Max? My girlfriend and I are both experiencing it with our respective iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max.
Yes. Same exact issue with my 14pro and a 14. It only seems to be when we are using CarPlay. I’m not sure whether it’s iOS 16 or the iPhone 14/pro. Prior to getting the new phone I upgraded my 11pro to iOS 16 and didn’t notice this issue.

Since I’m staying off the 16.1 beta I’ll post this here: the Dynamic Island + Apple TV + Apple TV remote is a killer combination. Makes the remote so much more usable. Its sprays available, either on the Lock Screen in Always On mode or on the DI. Always just a touch away.I cannot wait for mine to arrive to make use of this.

It’s little things like this that are the joys of this ecosystem, sometimes much more than the big tent pole features. I’m sure Android has these little lifehack-y features too.

Anyone else noticing an occasional stutter when swiping up to go back to the home screen, I think the same thing existed at the release of iOS 15 on the new phones last year? This is on my iPhone 14 pro max.

Yes, I am seeing this as well on my 14 Pro running 16.0.1

I’ve noticed this thing a few times throughout the beta cycle where if I scroll through my tabs in safari, the scroll will go “wild” as if the physics of the scrolling are uncontrollable. Hard to explain in words! Anyway I’m noticing this again on my 14PM

I’ve had similar out of control things occur. Last evening my phone kept turning on and off one of my focus modes. Very rapidly (2-3x per second). Needless to say, a bit annoying. Fixed by restarting my phone.

Are you on 16.0 or 16.0.1?

Same issue on my 14 Pro. I’ve been troubleshooting it all morning. It seems to be 16.0.1 only (or at least iPhone 14 only). My iPhone 13 Pro on 16.0 isn’t affected.

It happens to me on FaceTime audio and cellular. As a workaround until the bug fix, I’m going to avoid CarPlay. Instead, I’ll use Bluetooth audio. That works fine.

I have sonos speakers. I just find it weird that I can only select the first speaker on the list and if I try to select the others it keeps selecting the first one. Again this doesn’t happen all the time. But I’ve seen it happen in the music app

But since it doesn’t do it from control panel it’s likely a music app bug
same here. Mix of Sonos & homepods. I’ll test if any different from music app vs control center…

Actually this morning I got a call while on CarPlay. I remembered this post so I paid attention to the volume levels. The ring tone was quite loud, and actually, the volume of the call seemed louder than the radio (SiriusXM app) that was playing prior to the call. When the call ended, the SiriusXM app resumed playing, and the music volume was noticeably lower.

iPhone 14 Pro Max running iOS 16.0.1.

This might be a head unit thing?

My head unit (stock Subaru 2020 Forester) has separate volume settings for audio source (from an app like Music or Podcasts) and Siri announcements, and I think separate volume as well for phone calls. I can only change the head unit volume for the current source, so for example to change Siri's volume I have to activate Siri then use the volume knob before the audio switches back to another source.

You are definitely correct about the different volume levels for Siri and audio source... it's quite possible that it works the same way for phone calls... I suspect that this is "working as designed".

It seems that it's also affecting the microphone. Not only do callers sound quiet through your car speakers, but the person you're talking to will say that you sound quiet. I have to nearly max out the volume to hear them. The end call beeps are ringing are extremely loud as a result, so you have to adjust the volume before/after calls.

I only do encrypted local backups, no iCloud, this is still not working and I’ve seen other people mentioning the same
I'm doing encrypted local backups to macOS Monterey (12.6), I can set the backup to "Back up all of the data on your iPhone to this Mac", and apply, and it does a backup, and then the setting pops back to "Back up your most important data on your iPhone to iCloud" in the Finder window. I try again to set it to backup to Mac, same thing happens after next backup/sync.

Wow, seems like Apple is really trying hard to push people away from local backups and onto iCloud. Luckily they don’t engage in such chicanery on windows.

iCloud could certainly use improvement. But I’ll take it any day of the week and twice on Sunday over OneDrive.

I found a workaround. While unplugged from Mac, on the phone (14 Pro), went to iCloud Backup settings and toggled backup to iCloud on, then went back to icloud settings screen, then back to iCloud Backup screen, and turned off backup to iCloud. Then connected via lightning cable to the Mac, and the backup to Mac option is now sticking on.

Is this a bug?

When setting a new wallpaper and going for a custom color with the color picker, shouldn't the screen show the full image so we can pick the color we want from anywhere? When I click the color picker icon, the color palette disappears but the screen still shows the font selection screen, which means the bottom of the image can't be sampled...

iOS 16.0 on a 12 Pro

Happens to anyone?

Yea, I noticed this too and is very annoying that you can't go to the bottom of the screen with the colour picker (13 Pro on iOS 16).

Hi,

does anyone have also trouble with iOS 16 and MS Exchange? Since iOS 16 my Tasks are not synchronized correctly or with other words it makes big Problems on the Server.

If i input a Task on the iPhone "Buy a Router" then i change the same Task on the iPhone to "Buy a Router with Wifi6" and then i change again this Task to "Buy a Router with Wifi6 and Network Cable" i have in my Outlook and with the Outlook Web Access 3 Tasks. So if i change a Task every change creates a new Task on the Server with the same and the new content instead of changing the one Task which exists.

Anyone else iMessages not working?

I have a group chat of 3 people (all on iPhone) that is unable to work. If a message is sent and I click to open it, my entire phone freezes.

Not sure if this is a bug but in iOS 16, if you turn off the battery %age and then charge your phone, there's now no indication that your phone is fully charged (unless you look at the battery icon and see it full up).

Prior to iOS 16, there would be a line underneath the time on the lock screen saying 'Battery Charged 100%' or something similar like that.

EDIT - Looks like a fix is coming for this:
