No. For starters, you will need to have an EU based Apple ID with payment method. Can't wait for emulators to be available in alternative app stores! They should just allow side-loading.
How does one in the Americas access EU alternative app stores?
I have a japanese app store account from when I lived there.... So I imagine just using a VPN I can access EU alt app stores?
Let's wait and see, if there are changes for FireFox in the next months.Apple is also allowing alternative browser engines, and will not limit browsers like Chrome to the WebKit engine.
You better pray for EU users. They gonna see crap they have never seen before! The true nightmare has landed to EU!I’m jealous of European users.
Please. The only thing we need to pray is that they manage to beat Apple into submission properly and end the malicious compliance. You better pray for EU users. They gonna see crap they have never seen before! The true nightmare has landed to EU!
😂😂😂😂Please. The only thing we need to pray is that they manage to beat Apple into submission properly and end the malicious compliance.
If the EU can manage that (good luck), then it won’t be long before the rest of the world are BEGGING regulators to do the same in their country.
Well, devs have to the implement changes that Apple now ‘allows’. It’s just been released. Give them a chance!Well, don’t be. The only ‘significant’ change I’ve seen so far is when I tapped on Safari and was presented with a list of a bunch of some ‘useless’ apps to choose from. I say ‘useless’, because I like Safari and I’m not changing to any other browser.
Did you forget the /s tag? What an over reaction. Apples marketing department is truly fantastic. You better pray for EU users. They gonna see crap they have never seen before! The true nightmare has landed to EU!
The 80% thing is also a pure software switch.Only the iPhone 15 has 80% optimised battery charging. I’d suggest < pre iPhone 15 don’t actually have the same ability as the 15.
So basically the iPhone is no safer than any Android phone as has it has no special security features against malware that makes it stand out form any other phone on the market other than an app store, well that's my take on it, so for all that money we pay it's just as easy to infect as any other brand and it's magic safety sauce is just Apples walled garden when it comes to apps. You better pray for EU users. They gonna see crap they have never seen before! The true nightmare has landed to EU!
Hell and damnation! You better pray for EU users. They gonna see crap they have never seen before! The true nightmare has landed to EU!
There is no reason to limit those charge cycle count things to iPhone 15 series.
The phone shall have that data because if the genius bar can see them, then it shall be available to us as well.
Odd thing to pray for. If I don’t like Apple’s business practices, I don’t have to buy their products. That said, I hope the EU and other governments can find some time in their busy schedules to solve some of the more pressing issues facing society.Please. The only thing we need to pray is that they manage to beat Apple into submission properly and end the malicious compliance.

Apparently it won’t work with VPNs. The user needs to be physically located in an EU country. From Apple’s support document: “The country or region of your Apple ID must be set to one of the countries or regions of the European Union, and you must be physically located in the European Union.” and “If you leave the European Union for short-term travel, you'll continue to have access to alternative app marketplaces for a grace period. If you're gone for too long, you'll lose access to some features, including installing new alternative app marketplaces. Apps you installed from alternative app marketplaces will continue to function, but they can't be updated by the marketplace you downloaded them from.” (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118110).Can't wait for emulators to be available in alternative app stores! You’re correct. Apple”s support document says: “The country or region of your Apple ID must be set to one of the countries or regions of the European Union, and you must be physically located in the European Union.” and “If you leave the European Union for short-term travel, you'll continue to have access to alternative app marketplaces for a grace period. Apps you installed from alternative app marketplaces will continue to function, but they can't be updated by the marketplace you downloaded them from.” (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118110).I read somewhere that the ability to access the alternative app stores is location based - i.e. if you have an EU account, but go outside the EU it will be disabled. Is this true?
If it is, it potentially creates a significant problem for my daughter. She's in college in the UK, and bounces back and forth between Ireland and the UK. She has an Irish Apple ID, so if she does use the alternative stores, will they, and more importantly the apps she downloads, be disabled whenever she goes back to college?
Actually, this is location based. See Apple“s support document. “The country or region of your Apple ID must be set to one of the countries or regions of the European Union, and you must be physically located in the European Union.” and “If you leave the European Union for short-term travel, you'll continue to have access to alternative app marketplaces for a grace period. If you're gone for too long, you'll lose access to some features, including installing new alternative app marketplaces. Apps you installed from alternative app marketplaces will continue to function, but they can't be updated by the marketplace you downloaded them from.” (https://support.apple.com/en-gb/118110).No, you’d have to wipe your phone and use an alternative AppleID. Same goes for things like BBC iPlayer. Geo restricted for the account, not the location.
