I see. Well, if it still heats up after the RC, ask somebody to use their computer? With a decent internet connection updating with IPSW should be quite fast.
That can work, it can be either a Mac running the latest version of macOS or a windows Laptop with Apple devices installed on it. Make sure to backup via iCloud or do one via Finder or iTunes before proceeding.

It is also possible that you can get your iPhone checked out and an Apple genius can restore your iPhone via a Genius Bar appointment, they have MacBooks and lots of USB-C charging stations to do that.

Hello,
I have installed IOS18 Beta Public, the latest version, and I am unable to receive notifications from the podcasts app.
Can you help me?
Thanks

Can someone confirm if anything has changed when you're on a call and receive a second call? Has the UI changed? Seems like broken? Or is it this way? (I saw it on some Reddit posts).

Those with heat and battery drain, are you using a 15 pro or pro max? I finally feel like it’s better with heat and battery drain on the 14PM.

I don't know if anybody is seeing this. It's been happening at least for the last few betas on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Audio skips a second when screen is locked and I move my phone. It happens both with Airpods Pro 2 connected and with the audio going through the speakers.

When listening to a podcast, I may be using Apple podcasts or Overcast, it doesn't matter, if I lock my phone, when I move it, the sound will skip one second. It happens both when using AirPods and when listening to the audio through the speakers.

I already filed a feedback.

11Pro battery wise seems to be also stabilised. Also finally iOS 18 Mail app search indexing is gone after... all these betas :D

For some unknown to me reason on Lock Screen sometimes AirPods Case widget is not showing it's battery level (1x1 tile) when it's on unlocked battery widgets. Setting this tile back to AirPods Case fixes it for some time. Still investigating... as for sure I had it every time after few of Betas updates.

Keyboard input lag might be limited or fixed - not faced it yet.

It's also showing when needed, which is better than before.

Try restarting the iPhone.
My podcast notification works fine. (13 Mini)

The needle skips when it gets jolted.

Is anyone, facing the issue where icons are not rendered properly after a restart?

It is happening to my first folder in the dock. The icons render ok when the folder is expanded. Have to go to wiggle mode move one icon out and move back into the folder to resolve the issue

Honestly, beta 8 on my 15PM and 13 mini feels better overall than iOS 17 has.

I’m very relieved this is the case. I’ve even installed iPad OS beta 8 on an iPad mini and M1 iPad with the same results. iOS and iPadOS beta 8 both feel super.

I’d be more than happy to use these as final releases. They are on all my daily devices (as is the new macOS).

It’s a good year for the betas folks. There will always be folks with issues for whom I hope they get resolutions swiftly.

And after hard reset my phone gets hot like hell and cpu usage is at 100%!

Same for me. Right after a reboot (no matter if hard reset or just regular), the CPU will be at 100% for a few minutes. I have measured that with different apps. Also it heats up like crazy (15PM). After a few minutes it will settle down, but after that it will already have chewed through 5% of battery.

No idea what it could be, I need to do some measuring with Xcode Instruments but didn't get to do that yet.
