Just came across this issue, open the photos app, click search icon and when you type the letters Pa the app crashes.
Reported on FB15008672 if anyone else has the same issue.

It’s an iPhone 14 Pro

Face ID is acting up again for me since this new beta. I had to restart my phone to get it working. I first noticed when my password manager asked for my password instead of Face ID. Couldn't even unlock my phone with it.

Anyone installed B8 on a XR how’s it running
Running great here. No real issues for me.
in a dilemma , I have joined the developer programme but reverted back to iOS 17 and no longer want to receive iOS 18 updates and turned the toggle off but is there any way to remove it entirely or leave the programme as I can't find a option anywhere and as I a registered as a free developer some pages are locked and don't really want to pay 100 dollars to access pages if I am going to leave anyway .
any advice thanks
The "pages" you are referring to I assume is the settings page and that is part of the OS and cannot be removed. Just toggle off betas and you are done. Just stop participating. The dev acct is free to sign up for. No need to pay unless you are developing apps.

Lock Screen 1x1 Battery Widget sometimes loses info about AirPods Case battery level when simultaneously it’s reporting value in Home / Widgets Page battery widget.

Force setting it to show Case battery on Lock Screen fixes it temporary, weird as this issue came recently was not present in Beta1-5
(there was issue at Beta1-3 as far as I remember which is fixed, not allowing to set which device battery level to show in any battery widget)

as it happened 3 times already :/

a massive plus on this beta for me is I'm getting a heck of a lot less junk mail than the 17 betas.

I remember as soon as I went on 17 beta the junk emails came flooding in. And as soon as I moved to 18 they slowed down massively.

Hey, I know many of you will be surprised to see me in this thread, but… I’m testing iPadOS 18 public beta 6! (Same as dev beta 8). Of course, I won’t complain about poor battery life or performance because I KNOW what a beta software is. I’ve been a beta tester in the years of Lion and Mountain Lion.

However… wow! This works really well for a beta! My iPad Pro has similar battery life, sometimes it gets a bit hotter but nothing to worry about. And performance is quite good! Obviously there are some bugs here or there, but I also noticed some improvements in other areas, such as viewing big PDF files. Yeah, it still crashes if you scroll too fast (reported it using the feedback app), but less than on iOS 16 and 17.

And maybe it’s placebo effect but I feel like on iPadOS 18 I’m experiencing a bit less eye strain than on iOS 17.

I still prefer the older Control Center, aesthetically I mean. The round buttons are a bit strange and I would prefer them with the old rounded square shape. But it’s not the end of the world, and I like the wider possibilities it opens.

The iPadOS tab bar that replaces the lateral menu feels a bit unfinished. I haven’t found a way to customize it, like on the Files App for instance. And there’s no tab bar on Photos App, so it is quite inconsistent. And the dark mode icons still feel strange, although making them bigger without labels is pretty cool.

Overall, this is the first time I’m decided to update all my devices to the new system, at least during the first months. Not necessarily to 18.0, but rather to 18.0.1 or 18.0.2 There are many little things I’m liking.

iPhone 15 Plus running the latest public beta of iOS 18. I’ve had this message in battery settings for four days now. My battery life hasn’t been great since this latest beta release and I’m wondering if this is why. I’ve restarted the phone today and it’s still there. Is this happen to anyone else? Anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

Yes, this is a new iOS 18 trick, nothing to worry about, it will disappear by itself once everything is done.

Does iOS filter spam? AFAIK that’s the task of the Mail account provider (Microsoft, google, etc)

Public release never happens during an event. It will be RC after the event, then public release a week after
On a side note, there have been cases where Apple released the public release after the keynote (a few years ago), which caused outcry in the developer community cause the devs couldn‘t get their apps ready and approved in time.

Let's see when they will release it. This beta has been quite flawless, instead of previous beta versions of iOS
