So this is still happening. Restarting the phone didn’t work. I can still scroll horizontally through the list of concerts via the Home tab. I can tap on concert listings and it works fine. I just can’t tap the “Concerts” heading and be taken into that specific section of Apple Music.

Any suggestions?
After signing out and back in a few times, it’s now working properly.

Tell me if it’s only me. Phone app is broken. When i tap to call a contact from contacts tab it says call failed. It works ok from recents tab. Same happens from contacts app. It’s been like this since beta 4. Has to be the new phone icon they added in contact details (alongside the icons for each detail, mail etc)
Works for me.

I thought Stolen Device Protection is supposed to be ON by default with this update. It’s still OFF for me.
I believe if anything is "on" by default, it would be on after a factory reset, but it would not change the current setting, which is easy to just turn on.

Yet you continue to insist on using it over the highly stable and predictable OTA method. In all the years it’s been available not once have I ever experienced an issue that resulted in having to restart the update or restore the OS.
I can't do IPSW. Computer is locked down and USB disabled for items like this. Been doing OTA just fine for years.

When you turn that option on, when the phone locks, the wallpaper is still showned.
That isn’t the case with 26.4 anymore sometimes, the phone locks and the wallpaper do not shows.
It will shut off if low power mode is on.

Not to play the devil’s advocate here, but on the contrary, you’re the one complaining about Apple devices.
Most here use either Mac, OTA, or alternatives if on Windows. Rarely, if at all, do we hear someone having issues with the install process itself here. That alone says AD is the only thing that sucks. And even that seems to be an isolated incident according to another post earlier. So, of the handful of people who still use it, you’re the only one having issues.

Time to look inward and borrow a Mac and start from scratch. After you get that non-genuine battery sorted, of course.
And has the computer, OS, software, and cable also verified to be working properly?

I'm not saying AD doesn't suck, but there are a lot of layers on that cake.

Tinted mode now converts the nav bar to permanent dark mode in the photos app even on a light background :-(

Looks ugly. Did nobody report this?View attachment 2615010
I can confirm mine does the same, at least.

Tinted mode is so half-done. It should have been a slight increase in tint along with an increase in blur. Instead, it doesn’t increase blur at all and makes dark controls look oval and tilted because the specular highlights don’t darken with the control button.

The only reason I’m not jumping on the RC is that battery life running 26.3.1 on 17PM has been spectacular! I’m talking about over 8hrs SOT with only 55% battery used. Crazy!
Well, I jumped in and it turns out I had nothing to worry about. Here’s my usage today after installing the RC yesterday evening. Smooth as butter and sipping battery.

The screen while on a call doesn’t look quite so dull to me any more. 26.0-26.3 were one ugly solid color and the button contrast didn’t stand out so much. Just looked like half-moons around numbers instead of little glass chicklets.

I’m not looking forward to being the guinea pig though I suspect that will probably end up being the case. I will give it a couple of days, but it would be nice to possibly get feedback from one other person in the meantime considering the risky history of Apple’s often-times broken nonfunctional software.
I’m not big on beta software but this seems to have addressed a few glitches such as the keyboard which was really annoying. I also was having so many glitches with the phone that I did a full restore from local backup which it didn’t like and I had to pull everything down from the cloud again. Hoping 26.4 fixes the rest of them. Only problem im seeing now is Safari is clearly not allowing certain images through and access to Facebook is blocked. I don’t mind that. I have to hop over to google to access some sites.

Yes, I am on windows 11 on both PCs. Was there any fix to this you were able to find? I’m curious exactly what part of the app windows was somehow blocking
It’s one or more of the Windows 11 Security settings that break Apple Devices; I found wiping another laptop I had and installing Windows 11 without modifying any Windows Security settings and the Apple Devices app works flawlessly.
  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Select Privacy & security from the left pane.
  3. Click Windows Security on the right.
  4. Choose Open Windows Security to launch the app
I’m referring to the settings here: https://windowsreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/virus-and-threat-protection-2.png

I appreciate the pointer and possible lead on why things don’t work, but I’m fairly confident it’s Apple Devices and not any of these settings that are affecting things, as these settings have remained the same throughout the successful attempts at using Apple Devices… and the not so successful attempts. I think it’s well established that Apple Devices just sucks.

Well AD continues to work flawlessly (through every AD update) on the laptop where I reinstalled W11 but made no changes to Windows security yet continues to fail on my other W11 laptop where I locked down security.

Very good so far, however I did have a few instances where the whole screen became unresponsive to touch, which is fixed by switching to another app and back. Happened about 3 times.
