Also for me. I’ve notice that it’s getting warmer when I navigate on safari also the firmware ignore the battery limits and since I’ve installed this beta 8 always charges the phone up to 100% (and very very quick) compared to before.Battery life seems worse on my 16 Pro.
And visual glitches are still present here and there.
Really hoping Apple gets it together in the RC.
If I remember right this works since a while with Reddit. With other apps best music still stops. This depends on the app first of all.Wait a min, iOS now has multistream audio. Took all of 20 years to implement. God damn this is a QoL thing. The amount of times your music stops because of a random Reddit video…
I agree. Very inconsistent and feels like change for the sake of change.I don't think the new design is the problem, it's just that I don't like the design very much. It just doesn't look well thought out. There's no attention to detail. It's just a mix of the designs of iOS 18 and iOS 26. And here and there, they've done something to make it look different.
None of the fixes that people posted worked for me.Anyone know how to fix the wallpaper being dark? I’ve tried the toggle on the home screen where you change icons but that barely does anything. Sometimes it’s bright like it used to be on 18 but most of the time it’s dimmed
I agree. Multiple windows probably works well on large iPads, but split screen is more usable on an 11”. I can’t imagine using multiple windows on a mini! The biggest thing is window multitasking and I have no opinion on that so far. I need to play with it a lot more. I wish they kept the old features as well (slide over and split screen).
Yeah, what’s up with that?! I noticed that when I was testing on my iPad gen9. It’s still there in the current dev beta.Edit: i have to thank iOS 26 for the lower case i, what is up with that?
Do you have any notifications on screen? Mine dims when there are notifications, and brightens back to normal if I swipe them down off the screen. (Though I don’t use photos so I’m not sure if this is the same thing)The issue where the lock screen is dim with photo shuttle is still happening.
Hopefully they get it figured out soon.
Same here. Didn’t even notice that before.14P here, first time installing this beta, and there’s one weird animation that might be a fairly unique use case. I have “raise to wake” disabled, and when I want to unlock, I just swipe up on the always-on display. Previously this worked like any other unlock, but with this beta, it shows the passcode screen briefly before doing a FaceID unlock.
LOL. Set the bar low and then they can easily exceed it. Interesting take.Maybe Apple put out on purpose this buggy beta 8 full of visual glitches, so that by the time RC hits and the visual glitches are fixed, then we will be impressed with how much they improved iOS 26 by the RC. LOL, wishful thinking, they prob won't fix the visual bugs in time.
So it seems like this only happens when you have home screen icons set to clear. When you tap and hold on the Home Screen and tap "edit pages", then immediately tap "done", the screen locks up. Can anyone else confirm?
The beta has background logging and debugging turned on, and the other doesn't. It's not exactly fair to compare a beta build to a production build. The battery is a disaster.
I have two iPhone 16 Pros, one with iOS 18.6.2 and the other with iOS 26 beta 8.
Without using my iPhones, iOS 18 is at 98% at the end of the day, while iOS 26 is at 72%.
Ironically, I don't have a SIM card on iOS 26.
Nah, nothings fixed it for me unfortunately. I had to change photo shuffle to “tap” as a temp fix for nowNone of the fixes that people posted worked for me.
Also kind of feels like it’s meant to be that way. Which is unfortunate.
Did you ever get it fixed?
Same here, did that on B7 also (showed the passcode keypad momentarily while unlocking phone using Face ID.Same here. Didn’t even notice that before.
