The Remote app had been around for a while (icon had the old touch pad remote icon); they moved it to CC, and launching the app would direct you there.

There's also a landscape mode for the remote now too.

Yeah I know it’s existed for a very long time, but I’ve never actually had the app on my phone… the Control Center shortcut would always bring up the Remote app without needing to have the app installed on the iPhone.

if you have mistypes thats almost certainly due to user error. the keyboard isn’t always to blame for you not checking the keys you press at least on occasion, and mistypes and key misfires are always going to happen no matter how much apple works on the keyboard, because it has tap and touch targets. if you overshoot the target, you just need to double check in future.

Not true at all. It has been a known issue that varies with updates that it will autocorrect to the wrong word or words. I always double check my posts, emails and messages and still it bites me once in a while. It happens even when using my MKB on the iPad.

Here’s an odd one… light mode has a few app icons in the App Library missing (in the Social and Other folders), but they show up normally in dark mode

iPhone Mirroring is broken for me. iPhone Air on ios 27 and m4 Pro on 26.5.1

Broken for me as well. 17PM and M3 Max on 27b1. I get a "connection interrupted" error and the iphone resprings. Every time.

My updates:
- iPad Pro 13” M4 is still indexing
- Not sure about my iPhone 17 pro - it is not showing that it is indexing
- No Siri yet
- Apple Watch was frustrating. My rings wouldn’t update on the iPhone so I had to unpair and repair twice. Then I had to delete the weather app and reinstall it before it worked. All is good now.
- I do not see the EQ yet - question - do you have to be on the AirPods beta version?

Everything else seems to be working really well and the colors look really crisp and smooth.

Mine is showing 50 unread, but it should be none. I’ve tried turning off iCloud messages and iMessage, restarting, and enabling them again, with no luck. It keeps trying to sync around 200 messages and it’s stuck there.

This happened to me before a couple years ago, with the first rounds of beta’s. Was fixed eventually.

Mine acts like it will connect, but then it actually causes my iPhone to respring. Tried revoking access and setting up, no luck though. Notifications from my iPhone to MacBook works fine though

Same for me too. Mine tries to connect then causes a respring on the iPhone and never connects. Notifications still come through fine on the Mac though. Definitely a Beta 1 bug, hoping Beta 2 sorts it out.

Interesting that iOS 27 puts the Remote app on phones… I never had the app prior to this, and would just use the Control Center shortcut when I needed the Apple TV remote.

Wonder if I can still use the Control Center shortcut if I delete the app from my phone…

Happened to me, I ended up going to all my devices -> iCloud -> Messages and forcing a sync twice on each device. It took a while, but it eventually cleared up.

It's never truly bricked. A DFU restore has recovered every iPhone I've seen so far, no matter what you do to it with software (except if it's really defective, but I've never seen that happen).

Aside.. Like my iPhone 16pm 2 weeks ago. Must be rare but this wouldn’t recover from dfu when I tried no after multiple tries with different kit and staff at Apple Store (new system board now)

I hope not. I hate the “flat” look. It’s also jarring when other parts of OS became “more glassy” and now the icons are less. Hope we get a slider for them too. Or clear icons with colored logos

This is the most hilarious defense to Apple’s terrible keyboard till date.

Is it the user’s fault when the autocorrect replaces the word two before the current? How could anyone “overshoot” something they typed 2-3 words ago?
I could count on one hand when I was able to slide-to-type the word “forest” first correctly, including now. It’s the same even when I slide over the exact letters. Another example is guess which iOS predicts to be goes.

These are not something you can defend.

I noticed something new in the iOS 27 beta. On my 2023 Honda Accord, I can now drag the playback progress bar in CarPlay to seek/scrub forward and backward within a song. Previously the progress bar appeared to be view-only and didn’t respond to touch on my vehicle.

Can anyone else confirm this on their car? I’m curious whether this is a new CarPlay feature in iOS 27 or something specific to Honda.

I was able to get the bugged out messages badge to clear by going to my “Unknown Senders” and marking all those as read (even though they were all already marked as read)
