I noticed something new in the iOS 27 beta. On my 2023 Honda Accord, I can now drag the playback progress bar in CarPlay to seek/scrub forward and backward within a song. Previously the progress bar appeared to be view-only and didn’t respond to touch on my vehicle.

Can anyone else confirm this on their car? I’m curious whether this is a new CarPlay feature in iOS 27 or something specific to Honda.
Not just you. They added scrubbing to CarPlay (finally).

It’s a new CarPlay feature. Was mentioned somewhere in the keynote.

Thoughts after 12 hours of using it:

1. Quite stable for beta 1
2. Still indexing and waiting for new Siri
3. Battery draining faster than normal, but not a ton. Likely attributed to indexing
4. All my apps work fine with minimal UI glitches
5. Wireless CarPlay disconnected once on the way home from work and then reconnected automatically after about 20 seconds. 2021 Accord
6. A few interface bugs from time to time, but not common
7. AirPods Pro 3 sound great with the new custom EQ
8. Free is a better song than Golden

Nah, 15 Pro Max 512GB, EU launch version!
Luckily, I had a full iTunes backup. Still, it took nearly 2 hours to DFU reset the phone, install iOS 26.6, and reimage the device from backup.
After that, I spent another hour re-adding 15 debit and credit cards and reactivating all of my banking apps.
What an absolute nightmare!!!
Sorry you had to go through this but at least you have a working device now. By the time the public beta hits next month it should be a lot more stable by than or even the fall when it's released to the general public.

Finally off the waitlist. Got a notification that the new Siri is ready during sleep and yes, she is on duty.

Only issue… can’t find the new image editing tools on my 16PM

I'm going to really jinx myself, but I went ahead with the beta and immediately noticed that the UI definitely feels faster.

Having said that, watch it start to stutter crash and burn on me just for saying that.

Weird. Some photos show the Siri icon and refram works really nice. Others don’t show the option. Why? Must a specific photo style have been used?

The only consistent pattern I’ve noticed to this is my images taken in RAW do NOT allow me to use the Siri tools. Once I screenshot them, I can use the tools just fine.

A less consistent pattern seems to be when family members below 18 are present, I have a significantly higher error-rate on those specific pictures.

Anyone reported this yet? My AirPods Pro 3 are not being detected by my mac anymore, only my iPhone running iOS 27. My Mac is still running the latest version of macOS 26

Aside.. Like my iPhone 16pm 2 weeks ago. Must be rare but this wouldn’t recover from dfu when I tried no after multiple tries with different kit and staff at Apple Store (new system board now)

Any upgrade can brick an iPhone that is on the verge of becoming defective. But it's not a beta directly that can cause it because it's a beta. That was my point.

I don’t think so. Apple Intelligence and Siri is now just Siri. I thought, at first, then turning off Siri would turn off Apple Intelligence but it still seems active in apps like Mail with summaries.

Also there was no option to disable Apple Intelligence on install like we’ve had in the past. I guess it’s too baked in now to have an off switch?
Why is no one talking about this?

…Also how in the world does one access the app switcher on watchOS 27?
