it just depends on how much data overall you have installed on your iphone .. try to let it plugged in but just know that same for me i have 800 Gb of data on it . We need to remember that it's not the same indexing as before, this time the phone needs to classify a ton of information on mails, photos etc..
So apple will check everything that´s in our phone? what about the so called Apple privacy first???

Not sold on that. My Air is decidedly light on data and it has been indexing since drop.
My photos, emails, and other items are backed up to Proton, not iCloud.

I start thinking something else is going on with that continuous indexing state.

I got a 64 GB device here and it’s still indexing since day one. Let’s not forget this is the first beta. Issues and bugs are certainly expected.

3 days and no Siri and still indexing. Also, “search bug” back where I type a phrase in the search bar and it does nothing for about 20 seconds then the search results come up.

Also, I get a weird response when creating a screen shot—hard to explain but it acts differently than it used to…

My Air is still indexing as well. Maybe indexing has taken longer to complete than we thought all these years? Maybe the new Siri needs more time than ever?

My iOS files + Siri + System Data is over 60GB combined. Sure seems like a lot to index considering 6-7 years ago that was my phone’s entire storage capacity.

I have occasional issues (on iOS 26 as well, I think) where Siri will correctly listen to my command (such as "set timer") and then do nothing.

I've learnt to say "ok" if Siri chills out for more than a couple of seconds doing nothing.

the advise about indexing from apple is to leave it turned on and plugged in as much as possible. so maybe leave it on at night . ( also never ever seen anyone say they turn their phone off at night - well not since the time of dumb phones
Then you’ve been asleep. At least one poster on this thread said he does as well. Since even useless do not disturb lets some calls through. Not interested. Left it on last night. Didn’t change a thing. Still indexing.
