Gurman said public beta this week

I was really doubtful considering the existing Safari, Shortcuts, and Search bugs, but this page updated yesterday around 8am Pacific. Makes it more likely that PB1 gets released this week.

I think we’ll get a revised DB3 and a PB1 either today or tomorrow. It seems iOS 27 is on a similar schedule to iOS 18 as opposed to iOS 26.

I hope so because there is one, although niche, showstopper bug making the iPad completely impossible to unlock if we use a combination of an alphanumeric pin and iso keyboard layout. They know it, more than 10 feedback reports. I had to do a pretty convoluted restore to get back to unlocking it: changing iPhone password to a numbers-only one first, then restoring the iPad (using the ipsw to erase it) and setting it up via the iPhone so that the new setup has a numbers-only pin based on the iPhone. This made it possible to unlock the device and use it normally but it took me hours to figure out the proper way without simply downgrading.

EDIT: I know everyone should expect bugs with a beta, but I think this is big enough for them to want it fixed before public beta release.

There shouldn't be anything as far as history shows with the betas. But Gurman is saying the Public Beta should be out this week so folks think at best a revised DB3 for everyone.

I’ll clarify: if Gurman is correct along with the updated Apple beta site splash page, we’ll get an updated DB3 and a PB1, which would follow iOS 18’s schedule

Yes! However people often seem to remember different schedules that never happened.

I love that site! There has been a 2-week gap between b3 and b4 since iOS 3.0 by the way 😂

You'll most likely see the 26.6 next beta or RC launch just before 27 DB4. That's how it worked last week.

I was just about to say this. Plus, the public betas are usually released a few days after the last developer beta...not a whole week or more.

I'm thinking we'll see developer beta 4 next Monday, and the public beta next Wednesday. (Or Tuesday/Thursday, as it was done last year.)
