That’s not how it works. Look at the kernel dates: the KERNEL is build days before the beta goes live!
That “weeks old build” is a myth!

For example: the KERNEL of beta 4 has been build on July 14th, the beta image was released on July 20th with an “f” compile - so it has been compiled six times between the 14th and the 20th before it went life on the 20th.

Thanks for sharing this! The myth of betas being weeks old builds needs to die.... people think that Apple is 2 - 3 betas ahead which is not the case at all.

Of course Apple has some newer builds, even builds of the 27.1, 27.2, … branches.
But at some point days (and not weeks) before release one build is chosen as the to-be released build.

Yeah, but in a different branch. The builds in the 27.4 branch could be “older” that the current branch, especially when in comes to included security fixes.Yet they are already testing iOS 27.4!

There are these things called InternalUI builds. Which are basically alpha builds.Yet they are already testing iOS 27.4!

As someone that works for another big tech company, specifically in AI, I concur.
If you're talking about the alternate 1pm PST release window, that's in an hour and 20 minutes.
