Sure, here you go: https://forums.macrumors.com/attachments/1785914495471-png.2650174/Hope it's today!
Question - could you share a link for the graph? I've looked up online but can't find it!
😭 my brain agrees but my heart still hopes for today…Probably Monday or Tuesday though at this point…
I agree. At this point, no chances for a beta release this week. But hope remains 😂Yeah that’s also what I’m thinking tbh. Since we are already in the weekly beta cycle they probably thought it’s not worth to hustle on a beta 5 and instead opted to release the normal beta 6 as beta 5. I’m gonna be real frustrated if there’s no new beta on Monday 10am though.
So looking ahead this might be a fairly decent guess on how the next 7 weeks or so plays out......
Aug 3 Week - Beta 5
Aug 10 Week - Beta 6
Aug 17 Week - Beta 7
Aug 24 Week - Beta 8
Aug 31 Week - Beta 9, RC1 or potentially nothing
Sept 7 Week - iPhone event / ordering and RC1 maybe RC2 if we get RC1 the prior week.
Sept 14 Week - iOS 27 release and iPhones release on Sept 18
Historical Release Dates:
iOS 26 release date - Sept 15
iOS 18 release date - Sept 16
iOS 17 release date - Sept 18
An interesting observation.... I wonder if this is a alignment week in the schedule. ...
Starting at iOS 13, we only had one year where the X.0 got to a ninth beta. The rest have been 8 betas before getting to the RC.
An interesting observation.
Another factor to consider is that the work doesn't abruptly stop entirely, just because they don't release a new beta in a given week. Apple's developers are actively engaged in fixing the various bugs that have been (and are being) reported in the current beta cycle. If active bug reports (and therefore, active development) never falls to the anticipated trickle, I would imagine there's not going to be a major push internally to get all of the currently completed fixes out to the beta users.
So, a lack of new betas can potentially mean either very good progress and an impending RC... or very bad progress and lots of work left to go.
Got a good feeling about today. It’s not unheard of to launch on a Thursday.
If you used any sort of AI for that, I strongly suggest you double-check.I was in the same boat until I did some digging and saw iOS 8 beta 3 is the only Thursday release 😕
It was a good sign with GTA today. The release in November seems more and more realistic without any more delays. We’re gonna get GTA VI before we get beta 5.
... and saw iOS 8 beta 3 is the only Thursday release 😕
... I'm fairly certain that's not true. ...
This is such an AI voice.Cobold's post about kernel dates deserved more attention than it got, because it reframes the whole wait.
If beta 4's kernel was built on 14 July and shipped on the 20th as an f compile, that is six passes in under a week. Apple is not sitting on a finished build two or three betas ahead of us. They are compiling right up to the wire and throwing most of it away.
Which makes the letter a rough proxy for how much grief a build gave them on the way out. gtmead09 was half joking about wanting A and B builds by the RC, but that is exactly the shape you would want to see this late in the cycle. By that logic a beta 5 that turns up two days late as a c would be a better sign than one that arrived bang on Monday as another f. Worth checking the build string rather than the date when it does land.
No build has ever arrived faster for being refreshed at, sadly.
Thursdays and fridays are reserved for a cigar and drink on the deck…by then it’s “beta what”?We’ve had Thursday and Friday beta releases before. Fingers crossed.
iOS 18.4 beta was on a Friday for example. That was a big one for the EU because it enabled Apple AI for us 😀We’ve had Thursday and Friday beta releases before. Fingers crossed.
I'm having no issues with mirroring my Air to my MBP; as a matter of fact, it improvedProb next Monday, I'm debating if this upcoming beta will be solid enough for me to jump in with my daily driver iPhone Air. Been holding off as I read iPhone mirroring wasn't working on these betas. Was that fixed?
good to hear, any issues with Messages not syncing? I remember that was an issue in one of the earlier betas, were messages were not being marked as read between devices.I'm having no issues with mirroring my Air to my MBP; as a matter of fact, it improved
And it's nice; I've had Claude Cowork interact with the phone directly that way! =)
