More like the EU’s draconian and overreaching silly little edicts make it extremely hard to actually implement these features in their market…Crazy... just because Apple doesn't like the EU fines.. and it punishes the customers instead.
That's not cool , I was really hoping that Siri would be bilingual . Oh well , my devices are in english anyway so I'll get it nevertheless 🤷🏻♀️Apple Intelligence is only in English to start.
... without being promptly fined for some random feature that isn't considered "open enough" by the EU regulators.More like the EU’s draconian and overreaching silly little edicts make it extremely hard to actually implement these features in their market…
Nonsense. We never asked for it. It is the techocrats in the EU bureacracy who are so keen on an open market and level playing field that they forget companies base their existence on doing something others can not do.... without being promptly fined for some random feature that isn't considered "open enough" by the EU regulators.
Really, if you think about it... the EU citizens did this to themselves. They griped to regulators about not being able to do whatever-the-heck-they-wanted-to with their smart phones. The regulators responded by writing a bunch of laws to slap around Google and Apple -- and specifically, to hit these companies where they knew it would hurt: their profit margins.
Should it really come as a surprise that Apple and Google are now far more careful about what they release in the EU?
Nonsense. We never asked for it. It is the techocrats in the EU bureacracy ...
There are right ideas but horrible execution, like their cross-platform messaging enforcement is just plain stupid / makes no sense how they handled it.I don't know about that; I've seen plenty of EU citizen commentors in these forums who seem to think that their regulators are doing a right dandy job. Apparently you're not one of them.
I don't personally have my fingers on the pulse of politics in Europe... but if you think that maybe you represent the majority view, I would suggest that you and other likeminded citizens should probably get involved in your government, and boot those bureaucrats before they do any more damage.
Proper software testing requires the prople making the changes to supply the test team with a Test Plan, including list of changes and expected behaviors. Apple supply none of that to us to my knowledge but I am not an app developer, just an invited tester.I think he means like jumping on 27 without knowing what’s really new, without having seen the marketing waffle.

You may be misunderstanding the objective of this phase of testing. The formalized "Test Plan" approach only gets you so far; any other internal employee can follow a Test Plan and verify the results are as expected.Proper software testing requires the prople making the changes to supply the test team with a Test Plan, including list of changes and expected behaviors. The previous speculation threads have also ended up being long discussions of the features and of release schedules and the like. Personally, I think it's all very much related, as an analysis of the ongoing beta process is the other side of the speculation dialog. "We thought this would happen, but it didn't!" "We hoped for this feature, but alas, it's nowhere to be seen!" "Look! They finally did X!"Guys - how about talking about changes, things you like/dislike etc. in the appropriate Beta 1 Thread?
This right here is the specualtion thread for - well - speculating about what's to come...
