macrumors 6502
I fully agree, I was extrapolating ad absurdum, but I would still like to see some sort of release note that is intelligible by the Public, and an Apple public beta forum. I will continue to lobby for a beta section in the Apple Support Community, but in the mean time the word Beta triggers a moderator response, and we have to rely on Macrumors! You may be misunderstanding the objective of this phase of testing. The formalized "Test Plan" approach only gets you so far; any other internal employee can follow a Test Plan and verify the results are as expected.
The more difficult testing to pass doesn't require a plan: the public beta is all about putting the software in front of users who were not involved in the development process, who have no knowledge of the developers expectations, and who are unpredictable. These are the people who would promptly do exactly what is not on the plan; their entire purpose is to break it... and many of them (apparently yourself included) are very good at what they do.
P.s. with a home button phone, yes I usually find bugs unrelated to the new features.
