Perhaps the slow back up pace is due to the copying of all your installed apps back to your computer, rather than re syncing them, it backs them all up? I ran the update on a differnt computer to the one the phone is synced to, and yet it said I would not loose the apps during the update process.
Just a thought.

Oh wow. Yeah my photos look horrible also! I'm on a 3GS, just installed 4.0 for the first time today. No jailbreak.

EDIT: Photos taken with the phone are fine. The problem is with photos that were previously uploaded to the phone. Not sure if re-uploading them would fix the problem.

Back up your photos to iPhoto or Aperture then reload them. It fixed mine.

Perhaps you should know your stuff before you comment?

If using OS X, when talking about "Software Update" you're referring to the update program within OS X that checks for updates for OS X itself, iTunes, etc. This update program does not check for updates for iPods or iPhones; iTunes does that with its own update mechanism.

Where do you think it gets the software from? There is an iPhone Software updater that pops up you agree and then it downloads. Where do you think it's coming from the software fairies? It comes from the same servers as everything else.

Any yes sometimes when you initiate updates it will open the normal software updater as mine has been doing for this update.

Make sure you've updated Pandora, they just released an update today.

Hmmm, now that I have the new OS I find myself less wanting the new iPhone 4. The only two differences for me with the new version is the 5 MP camera and new design. I know that I'll never use the front video camera.

This happened to me with 3.1.3 Three calls to Apple, no fix. Resorted to AppleCare sending me a new phone. Good Luck!

Make sure your Camera app is allowed to use your location and Faces comes from photos synced in iPhoto.

Double-tap the Home button, scroll to the right until you see Pandora, then press and hold the icon until it starts wobbling. Then just press the '-' sign next to the icon and it's gone.

True. Also you can click on Pandora and hit pause from within Pandora. This would keep it in the task bar, but would turn off background playing, and (almost certainly) eliminate battery drain from backgrounding.

All of these wallpapers in the screenshots look awful!

Take a picture with no light, covering the camera with you hand or something, and there you go, you have your black wallpaper.

By default, if you upgrade to iOS 4 it will apply your Lock screen background to your Home screen as well.

apparently you can opt to have different images for your homescreen and your lockscreen in the settings under "wallpaper"

So, don't worry to use folders if U need to sync with iTunes.

You must be doing something wrong. Your screenshot doesn’t help to help you though.

TuneIn Radio multitasking

Multitasking with the TuneIn Radio app is awesome. Just hit the Home button and go do something else. It keeps playing.

It's so stupid simple, but so cool to see it finally happening on an iPhone.

I found that places only appears if you have photos with geolocation, otherwise no button is show.

Maybe faces requires photos from iPhoto?

backup taking forever.

MIne has been sitting on "Backing up "XXXXXX's iPhone" for like 45 mins. It's moved to what seems like 3 percent. It just backed up when I connected it to iTunes 9.2. WTF. On Windows. Hrm... iPhone 3G here.
