It went perfect through, been playing a little bit with the new ios,.
But somethings bothering me with the camera, there is no 'video camera', i have the 3gs.

I mean they make it sound real cryptic that you cant restore from your last back up so thats why you must back up now...

This is officially the slowest update ever, why does it take more than 3 hours to download 300 MB? I bet the servers are busy but I'm sure they were busy last year with 3.0 as well, and it wasn't slow at all!

I posted before but I seem to be in the same boat as some of the other 3G owners with iPhones that are in back up mode for hours. It's painful. I started nearly the minute the update came out (3 hours or so ago) but I've stopped a couple of times and just restarted again at 3:00. I stopped as I wanted to see if rebooting my machine (Windows 7) would help but it hasn't.

I'm getting ready to give up and just wait for my new phone on Thursday. At this rate, my 3G won't be updated by then!

You may want to restart the process. It only took me like 2 minutes to download the update. it's only 292.10 MB.

The download worked fine within minutes (according to iTunes). It's the data backup what lasts so long… Still waiting.

No update required if you already have the latest gold master installed (build 8A293) I was looking forward to having a few bug fixes but anyways..

Have about 9Gb of stuff on my 3G, backed up before hand, that took around 25 mins (hadn't backed up in weeks; had a few games over 250mb to back up) began installation process about an hour ago and now past the backup stage

MIne has been sitting on "Backing up "XXXXXX's iPhone" for like 45 mins. It's moved to what seems like 3 percent. It just backed up when I connected it to iTunes 9.2. WTF. On Windows. Hrm... iPhone 3G here.

I know it sucks that it took a while to get multi-tasking, but the way that Apple has it set up seems to be the best way. I love that it's integrated with the OS. Coolness.

Just got my 3gs updated to iOS4

I did find that the camera app when shooting video has tap to focus anywhere on screen now before it didn't on video only pics

and thats about all i can find new execpt the multitasking ,folders, and mail improvements.

and really the multitasking is a joke it just freezes the previous app window so when you go back its where you left off

There is no quick text reply within the app you still have to reopen the app when done texting

looks like iOS4 is really about the iAds and making money for Apple and not even being able to change incoming text sounds !!!!

How is the multitasking a joke? Do you really care what it does when you don't have that app running in the foreground as long as you can go back to where you left it? I understand for audio apps it should do something like still play the audio, and Pandora is now doing this along with TuneIn Radio, and more I'm sure will come when they get updated. And I'm also one to say that I would like the text sounds changed, but just because Apple doesn't fix this in the latest iOS version doesn't mean the whole update is a piece of crap.

Anyone else with this problem?

Not here, with scanned in, iPhone 2.5, and iPhone 3GS photos. All look good to me.

Backup Is Taking Forever

I left it plugged up for an hour and still I saw only small amount of the blue in "Backing up iphone". I just removed everything from it and will try the update again. It seems to be going a little faster but still very slow.
