prepare to redownload all your iTunes sync'd photos. It totally f'd all of my sync'd photos up. Distorted all the pictures and everything is fuzzy, barely identifiable.
Update: Yea, you'll have to do a sync AFTER you install the OS4 update. It only transferred the thumbnails of the pictures, but had to entirely re-download all of the real photos so that they looked right.

iBooks for iPhone
Shouldn't be long now until the iBooks for iPhone is available. Apple updated the iBooks page and removed the "coming soon" language. See attached. As of this post, the App Store still has the iPad-only version 1.0.1 available.

That was fast got the download in about 14 minutes. backing up now, I wonder if I should have removed all of the media files from my Touch 2G the back up would have gone a whole lot faster.
I'm taking the plunge. I'll be getting my iPhone 4 on Thursday (assuming my reserved iPhone will actually be there). My wife is staying with her 3G for the time being, so I figured I'd test the new OS out for a few days and let her know whether she should update to iOS 4 on hers or not.
Of course, I'm not being completely altruistic; I'm also looking forward to playing around with it too to whet my appetite for the iPhone 4.
I WANT to play, but I'm giving my 3G to my mother-in-law at the end of the week. I'd hate to stick her with this if it's gonna make everything slower. She'll be fine without folders.
That's not comforting. I won't be upgrading until they fix this then, I use the feature all the time and I'd feel naked without it. What model iPhone did you try it on?

I tried hitting "stop" backing up and it just stops the install altogether. I then hit update again and it's going to take hours to just complete this backup. Why are some people not experiencing historically long backups??
they might sync more often? Mine is taking forever but I can't tell you the last time I sync'ed it
Wouldn't it be nice if they would allow tethering for free? If only they would do something to please their customers....
It looked like it would take a long time. But it truly only took about ten or fifteen minutes. Be patient.
Apparently, but a few users are reporting slight differences, and i've had some really bad bugs (to do with the calendar) in the GM build, so i'm going to try it out!
