you can specify what is sync automatic ( in Appstore settings)but your iTunesstore updates and then you download at will the item

From a security stand point, I see this new integration and cloud syncing as a major security concern. My concern is this, when does it end? Is there anything about our personal lives that cannot be and will not be accessed in order to profile us? I have long since said that a smart phone is evidence to be used against us. Even if we are not doing anything illegal a individuals private business is just that it's private and should not be accessible via cloud storage by individuals in government and corporate entities. Problem with this scenario is that people are "willingly" lining up and freely doing this under the enticement of simplicity and sheer laziness because they are unwilling to educate themselves about these powerful tools in which they are wielding, the (P.C) is the tool in which people "choose" to remain ignorant about. This is a very scary scenario when viewed in the proper educated perspective and light.
We are entering into a age where people are willingly giving up their freedoms and liberties and constitutional rights for the sheer convenience of being lazy and are being allowed to remain ignorant and they basically posses a loaded gun metaphorically speaking!
Sorry, I know most will disagree with my perspective on this but, I see it as societies responsibility to educate and empower people not endorse ignorance and laziness!

I was wondering the same thing. I'm not seeing anything on my iPad 2. Also not seeing anything yet on the pull-down notifications window; just a small grey box that displays the clock. I'm hoping that I wake up to a Words With Friends update on my lock screen.
anyone be willing to help me out with registering my UDID for my iPad? I got my iPhone registered through another friend, but I need my iPad. I would be greatful!
Technology always marches forward, but you're right - there does seem to be something unique and special about this era (2007-2012?) that we're in.
-Portable devices are nearing the computing power of our dedicated computers (for consumers at least)
-Battery life lasts all day, or more
-With 4G/LTE, fast broadband internet access is (nearly) everywhere
-Multitouch displays allows devices to have nearly whatever UI we want, or display whatever information/media we want
-sensors tell the devices about their world (e.g. location services)
And now, services like iCloud give ubiquitous, consistent access to that information. All in the hands of laymen. We live in interesting times!

About to purchase the $99 program membership. After I get the activation e-mail and successfully activate my membership I'm assuming I should be looking for iTunes 10.5? When I get this downloaded, I just plug my in my device and do what exactly in iTunes? Hit update? Restore? How do I register the device to get the UDID?

I think you have to download Xcode (free for developers) to set which devices you will use to develop with, not really sure. Hope this helps.
mobileme + appleID
Has anyone tried using a separate appleID (for music, movies, apps..) and a mobileme account together with the icloud? This is my current setup on my iphone because I got my appleID and started buying music, movies, and apps before I got my mobileme account. With the new migration to icloud and mobilme "moving" to icloud, I was wondering if I will still be able to use them the way I currently do. Will I be able to tie my appleid to the music, movies, apps side of the icloud and my mobileme account to the email, calendar, connects side.

I feel as though it is necessary to purchase the program to obtain Xcode, which is what Apple is telling me or to purchase it through the Mac App Store. This is of course Xcode 4. If you know how to download Xcode without paying for it please let me know and if you or anyone else has any other information on how to go about the process I mentioned above.

You need to be a paid apple developer to get the downloads. Once you get your activation email, usually within 24 hours of paying, you can log in and download all of the pre-release software.
I'm liking what I see. The WiFi syncing, iCloud and new notification system are my favorite features thus far.

Notifications on iPad
So am I the only one who's Notifications arent working? I try pulling the tray down but the tray doesnt come down all the way and doesnt display anything... Im on a iPad 2....

I dont think alot of people really know what a UDID is. It is a unique identifier for you iDevice. Everybody has one.
It is not a good idea to randomly ask somebody to put your UDID on their list, because if they take you off at any time, you automatically brick your device, and will not work until the public release.
For many people looking into getting the beta early, it will have many bugs, and isn't complete until the GM seed.
Probably not a good idea to run the beta unless you have an extra device, and are willing to possibly having bricked until the public release.
