No, Apple's releasing the final product to customers around September 21. GM will be released to devs much sooner than that. There is no way that they launch a beta and then announce/release a GM a week and half later. We're in the home stretch and the next iOS 6 release will be the GM.

Just to see where you're coming from, what date would you give for beta 5?

I'd think Beta 5 on the 5th of September. That would leave one week for the GM until it's announced on the 12th, and another nine days until it's officially released.

Last time I checked, Apple's headquarters are and have always been in America.

This doesn't necessarily mean that anybody at Apple has today off (and likely, they don't), but it is certainly valid to point out that today is a holiday in America. No snark needed.

Guys...on Apple's website it says iOS 6 will come out this FALL. The first day of fall is September 22nd. I think we'll get iOS 6 the day after iPhone 5
