So what does the difference of being integrated into iOS and not? .. confused :(

In menus in iOS there are options to "post to twitter" and stuff. This is integration. So instead of needing to open the Facebook app to post a photo I can post it straight from the Photos app itself.

I don't have a Facebook account & don't want this crap integrated in the OS.

Apple is late to this game with a cheap Marketing buzzword feature many people don't want. My GPS App integrated Facebook and user comments about it in the iTunes App Store were widely negative, like this thread.

This thread is fun.

Same gender marriage is now a legal option in 6 states. It is not mandatory to runout & find a life partner of the same gender if you live in one of those states.

Amazing how most of the people hating on this idea have all kinds of feature demands in other discussions about the next iPhone. XD

How will it change your use of iOS?

Twitter was integrated into iOS5 and I'm not signed up to that. I've had no issues from 'this crap" being integrated into iOS so why would Facebook integration be any different?

It's amazing how many "i don't want it" you read on this thread. Like someone is having a pistol on your head and is forcing you to use it. Do people really understand what integration means? If you don't like FB and if you don't use it, now how the hell is your privacy going to be in risk? Do not install the app and that's the end of your freaking nightmare.Gee!!

Let the option be there for us who want it. You don't want it then you don't use it. How simple can it get?

Please no :( I am already having issues with how Facebook treats privacy. I don't want it to be integrated into my phone...

It's similar to Twitter but somehow worse with FB... I'm tired of all the Facebook whoring in other products. The "F" logo everywhere has become a turnoff. It takes up space and adds clutter to settings. But I won't lose any sleep over it ;-)

lol at all those paranoid hipsters on here complaining about privacy on facebook, as if the government and the providers arent doing the same just even worse. i got nothing to hide, and what i post on facebook can anyone see. i dont care

i couldnt even leave facebook even if i wanted to. i'd miss half the college announcements and news and input and ideas from other students.

its just part of every days live nowadays. saying people using "facebook" have no "social life" is redic, i dare to say its the opposite unless you are one of those 3000+friends hoarders. i would also miss half the parties, special offers in the city without looking on facebook and would certainly loose touch with my friends from home.

Seems like choice isn't such a bad thing... It's easy enough to disable Twitter, after all.

Just because you don't want it doesn't mean others don't. Many apps use Facebook to login (thereby preventing the ordeal of going through signing up for a new account with the app itself). If you don't like the integration, you can simply choose not to use it.

I would rather have it completely omitted from the OS itself. It would be much better if facebook integration, or any other social spyware crap for that matter, would be available as a downloadable option only.

It almost feels like iOS is slowly becoming like a Windows PC that you buy at some computer shop: pre-loaded with all kinds of crap that I'll never use and can't even deinstall.

Could care less... I don't need twitter and Facebook links and buttons all over my iphone OS! They have an App, if people need to do something to post their then open the App and use that! Apple needs to make this integrations invisible unless you actually opt into them!

Caving into Zuck, and integrating Facebook into the iPhone will be wildly popular with the ladies, soccer moms, grannies & such. Yet it's contrary to Apples age old independence.

700 million active users is a lot of "ladies, soccer moms, grannies". Sexist comment aside, this is a no brainer for Apple.

The people complaining sound like android users who hate iPhone. Ugh, go away. Before you make a stupid comment like "oh noes, FB is stealing a piece of my soul" understand how privacy does work on FB. Then make sure to never touch the internets again, cause you're a hypocrite if you've used any other service or website.

If I used Apple IOS, I'd have "thrown up in my mouth a little" when I read this.

I hope that there's a "hard kill" switch on this for people who want nothing to do with FB.

HOW MANY TIMES?

Don't provide iOS with your Facebook credentials and the integration can't work.

Point well taken. In hindsight it wasn't meant to be sexist, yet I can see how it came across that way.

Moreover, it's a reflection of my distaste of Facebook. I'm very well aware that I'm in a very small minority. I've never been one to adopt something just because "everyone else does". I'd much rather remain open minded, evaluate things for myself, and then decide. :)

I am grown up which is why I am not using FB... Prefer real social interactions, remember, the ones where you actually talked to people

Just like the interactions you partake in on the macrumor forums? In the future, think about what your claiming before you claim it. Lol

no you can't

You can uninstall the twitter app in iOS. Even signed in under settings you can still uninstall it.

I have not even installed it. I mean that I want to remove "Tweet" from the list of sharing options. I don't have an account or the app....I do not want the menu option either. In Android I would only have the menu option if the app was installed.

To me this is "Deep Integration" that I cannot remove.

Don't like.

FB tracks users even when they log out, they don't allow you to delete anything and they know what you do.
Case in point. I deactivated my main FB last year but I have a spare that uses NONE of my info and I even registered it with 100% false info and a spam email account I don't use.
FB started doing that ppl you may know thing and I saw ppl from my old FB account, I got a new job and my coworkers r popping up on it and I've only been there 2 months.
I never searched for these ppl I use that spare false fb account for websites that annoyingly only let you access them if you have a fb account. And I logoff when I'm not on plus my browsers block fb trackers( least I thought they did)
Yet FB knew to attach these ppl to me.

I'm not a fan of this even if I never use fb on my ipad (I don't now) those nosy share everything bastards are going to find someway to access personal info...

Apple should give users the option if they even want to add it to their version of iOS.

Game Center is a total waste of bytes for me but I don't complain that I can't get rid of the icon - I just ignore it. Equally the Print and Twitter entries on the sharing menu are pointless for me so I just ignore them.

Why is it such a big deal to people to just ignore the FB option?
