Won’t run on Windows 7.

I plugged my iPhone 5 which I did a fresh restore on it. I downloaded the 7.1.1 from apple and restored that, the phone boots into 7.1.1 factory fresh now.

I have a Mac but since there is no Mac version of this I am forced to run this Pango crap on a Windows 7 media center machine.

When I plug my iPhone in using a genuine Apple lightning cable the iPhone asks me if I want to trust the computer. I tell it yes.

I start the pango crap and it is all question marks since I don’t have the chinese installed on that pc. I uncheck the checked dot on the left but the elongated button on the right which I assume is the start button just has four question marks in it and it is not clickable.

WTF??

One thing to try, before launching the program, make sure the phone is unlocked and at the springboard. The above happened to me and my rMini when it was locked with passcode... unlocked it, and relaunched the program, and all went well.

Browser changer?

Does anyone know how to get browser changer working or if there is another working tweak to change the default browser with the new jailbreak?

For those of you having problems with the jailbreak, make sure you turn off auto-lock (under settings->general), and perhaps even disable the passcode completely until you finish the jailbreak. I had one device keep failing, and once I did the above measures, it completed without a problem.

Other potential errors may be, as aforementioned, not rolling back the date or not hitting the Pangu icon which will appear on your home screen (won't appear on the first page of your home screen, so scroll one over!).

We'll have to just sit back and wait for that one. I imagine by the end of next week, most tweaks would've been updated.

Just installed it late last night. It was not without some hang ups, though. I had to restart the Pangu exe a few times, most notably after the Pangu icon appeared on my springboard. When I clicked it, nothing happened. So, I installed again and then it worked. Also, iTunes helper is not enabled on my system, so that May have done something. I opened, then closed iTunes manually.

I did this with my iPhone 5 on Windows 8.1

The jailbreak is working great, without any odd behavior.

Is there a board somewhere here discussing Cydia app functionality on 7.1.1?

So far, I've got these:

Cccontrols - seems to be working well.
Dockshift - kinda works, but won't give me the transparent dock.
Five icon dock - icons overlap a little, but works fine.
FakeCarrier - good
Accelerate - good
Icleaner - good
iFile - OK, but won't let me install paid version or to register.
iCaughtU - good
Winterboard - good
Statusmodifier - good
Showcase - good

A few themes - some worked, some didn't.

Disappointed that Volume Amplifier has been delisted, because apparently some users couldn't monitor their own sound level well enough to prevent blowing out their speaker - or their ears. I was using it in 7.0.6 and I'm guessing would have in 7.1.1 too.

My iPhone 5 goes in to boot loop with the Pangu jailbreak too. It gets to the 'Welcome to Pangu jailbreak' screen when the jailbreak is supposed to then occur and after a minute the screen just tears in half and goes all corrupt and the phone restarts, goes back to 'Welcome to Pangu jailbreak' and keeps repeating the cycle.

I restored and tried again - same thing. Everyone mentions that the iPhone 4 goes in to boot loop but so far no-one else has mentioned iPhone 5? From what I have read it states that the first time you jailbreak an iPhone 5 it fails and you have to do it again.

I cannot do it again because the Pangu PC app does not recognise the iPhone 5 whilst in boot loop from the initial jailbreak attempt.

Has anyone else had this issue or know of a fix?

Can anyone try rebooting their iphone 5S and see if it hangs, mine hangs until I do dome restarts and random button combinations

Nope. Works just fine on 7.1.2.

This jailbreak only uses exploits that Apple were well aware of.

As to do with the iOS 6 'fiasco', nothing important was burned there anyway :p

Why? This works on 7.1.2 just fine.

Does this mean that this JB release will have no impact on the potential for/quickness of an iOS 8 JB release?

Won’t run on Windows 7.

An unclickable jailbreak button (aka ????) probably means that Pangu doesn't realize that you have a device plugged in. If you don't have iTunes installed, this is probably your problem. iTunes also includes all of the drivers that Windows needs in order to identify your device. Once Windows can identify your device, Pangu should be able to.

I'm still unsure if I should update. My iPad air does crash a hell of a lot in safari, 7.1.1 supposedly fixed that so maybe I will.

Pretty much

Substrate Disabled Mode ≠*Safe Mode.

i'm aware they're different but i put that in parenthesis to help people that may not know what substrate disabled mode that they are similar. similar in the sense that it disables tweaks (if you looked at what i quoted)

Does anybody know when the Mac release is supposed to release? Or my options if I'm on a Mac?

at the moment, bootcamp/some vm software such as parallels and windows 8.1 enterprise version (trial for 90 days)

or use someone's computer that is on windows

Everything work seamlessly except that my iMessage and FaceTime can't seems to activate(phone number). Tried resetting and re-jailbreaking twice, removing my email for iMessage and reactivate but all wouldn't work. Anyone face similar issues?

Guys, if you want to check what tweaks work/don't work on this jailbreak, check the below link. Plus, if there are any tweaks that aren't on the list, or any changes that need to be made, email Adam Insull at tweaklist@gmail.com

Thanks for the link.

Okay, I emailed my findings. The list has Dockshift as working, but I've found that only partially, actually, as it won't give me the transparent dock.
