I'm still unsure if I should update. My iPad air does crash a hell of a lot in safari, 7.1.1 supposedly fixed that so maybe I will.

I updated my iPad mini to 7.1, it was worth losing my jailbreak for. Safari works much, much better. And now I was able to jb again with no issues. I'd say do it if Safari is a problem for you.

One thing to try, before launching the program, make sure the phone is unlocked and at the springboard. The above happened to me and my rMini when it was locked with passcode... unlocked it, and relaunched the program, and all went well.

Exactly. Disable passcode and put auto lock to never so the screen stays on. That'll help the jailbreak suceed. Make sure iTunes isn't running at the same time.

anyone having issues with having very long resprings?

Edit: Fixed. Removed a current app which made resprings go very slow.

Running Smooth on I5s

Safari is crashing far too much for me think you convinced me to go into my garage and pull out my crappy PC to get this thing done lol

No other issues to be aware of?

I did the same thing yesterday fired up the old pc from 2 years ago and jailbroke... Everything ran very smooth just disable passcode and manually set your date to june 2, 2014 and uncheck the little box on pangu app before you start the jb...

No issues so far. Did my ipad last night and iPhone this morning. Very happy so far. JB and remove the PPSync or whatever it's called.

It's funny that it took some chinese people to get freedom on american devices

and you are wrong btw, unless you claim to be smarter than Saurik and the rest of the devs that gave their blessing.

Good point :D

Doesn't it feel good being off the jimmy rigged beta?

It's been smooth sailing for me since right after PanGu dropped, on rMini and iPhone 5.

yes good riddance!

now I can consider buying an apple tv for airplay mirroring, or getting the hdmi adapter :)

wonder if people will do the beta jimmy rigging for iOS 8 (not sure if jb was released for it yet?), I think I'm going to pass on that this round :p

Yeah I'm definitely passing. X.0 beta is bound to be buggy as an understatement. And spoofing a whole version down if need be to avoid expiration sounds beyond risky. 7.1 to 7.0.4 spoofed wasn't a biggy cause mostly same if not same api's. A whole version leap you'd be asking for it!

Glad I dodged 7.0.4 for 6 months even so! And glad to not be in any spoofing scenarios this go round.

Thanks guys going to do it right now just hooked up the old Gateway. I'm on 7.0.4 what do you guys recommend should I restore right now via iTunes before jailbreaking? I have backed up everything and will not be restoring from a back up.

I'm going to ask the obvious question here. Does the jailbreak need to run on the same machine you used iTunes on to upgrade the phone?

For example, if I upgrade my 4s to 7.1.1 on my Mac, I could just install iTunes on my windows box, plug the phone in, and jailbreak from there, yes? Or would I have to let iTunes in Windows upgrade the phone, and then jailbreak?

BL.

No.
Never did before and neither now.
You don't have to jb on the computer you sync with. You can use any computer to jb your device and then sync back to your library with no probs.

no, the jailbreak could run from any machine that is "trusted"

this dude (i0n1c) has problems:

The worst part is even if he were bitter or upset about his training or exploits being used, he could at least fake it and maybe he'd start winning back some love from the community and the general public. It'd be such an easy route to take to at least congratulate PanGu on some level for the things they didn't take, etc.

First comment from your first link says it all.

@i0n1c ******** much?

Not much more to be said.

I'm wondering if it's worth trading up my 5 for a 5s. I always consider upgrading hardware when the window opens up again. But still really pleased with my 5. And most 5s locally are 16gb and I've kind of taken a liking to 32gb and end up using it when I don't wanna micro manage storage. I could live with 16gb but on evasi0n7 install I didn't have much space left over time. Lots of crap builds up quick. The other thing is I feel like I'll get an iphone 6 inevitably but if I get a good deal might be worth it. Hmmm

Going iPad 3 to rMini (base storage on both, not as big of storage needs on tablet for me) I think was and would be a more colossal leap when evasion7 came out during the holidays
