itunes Backup, then restore with the 7.1.2
Setup as new, then jailbreak, then restore backup
Done
That should work every time as you said you did.

that is what I have done three times now. I updated to 7.1.2 setup as new, jailbreak with Pangu, I see the cydia app. The I restore from previous backup, then the Cydia app is gone. It is still jailbroken but Cydia is gone.

Are you sure you are looking in the SAME area that the cydia icon was when the backup was made? You didn't have it in a folder or hidden or something?

Some very minor visual glitches...but except for that it seems to work as well as or better than any other jailbreak in the past.

The weirdness associated with having to change the date and turn off automatic update caused some old iMessages to show up, which was a surprise.

Seems to work just fine as long as you can put up with a 1/8s quick flash of a bright blue horizontal line every once in while. I don't know what settings I would have that cause that, if nobody else has it. :)

I said a while back that I would stop jailbreaking because everything that I'd wanted to jailbreak for had eventually been incorporated into iOS.

In the end...I couldn't help myself.

Definitely looked in the same place, also searched the IPAD for cydia and could not find it. I also installed 3g unrestrictor and sb settings along with activator and tetherme, prior to restoring. The apps for all of them disappeared, but activator and tetherme still show in the settings. Really weird.

Type this into safari.

Cydia://

Should open cydia. You can then re-install substrate and reboot

Is anybody else having trouble with the jailbreak installing? ip5 7.1.2. It appears to work fine, it says complete but my phone boots fine and there's no cydia. I installed it again, and then it went through an installation process and cydia worked. I rebooted my phone earlier because I double yelp app after updating it, but one was grayed out like it was installing. After reboot, all my jb installed apps disappeared. I restored again and same thing happened; install said complete, but it didn't boot into the cydia installer.

Also, where the check box to not install whatever it is we don't want to install? I'm on the mac version. I didn't notice anything extra being installed, but thats not saying much, haha

Hmm. I can't handle glitches. It's why I switched from Android. Perhaps I should stick to 6.1.2?

if your apps disappear, reinstall mobilesubstrate or one of the missing apps/tweaks and the problem should go away

Thanks!

Do you know about that ppsync thing? I didn't see any check boxes to not install that? Is that thing still installed on the mac version?

Why is my Newsstand icon is blank?

Anyone know how to get browser changer working with safari 8? It opens the browser but not the link? Is there something else that works?

I've just tried to jailbreak twice using the Windows version on 7.1.2 from a freshly restored via iTunes (no backup) and I get no Cydia icon after it's done. Anyone had any success?

It happened to me last night, so just restored the phone and tried again. It worked the second time.

does it bring you fully to the home screen after the first reboot?

To be honest I don't remember, it was a long night and it's only 8:40 in the morning so I'm a bit groggy, but everything completed successfully according to the Pangu app on my desktop.

My first failed try said that also. Which is why I restored and tried again. I was paranoid that time and closed iTunes and kept Pangu in focus lol

I'm doing this on my iPad, but Cydia is still not showing up. I've restored and rejailbroken (in the proper order) four times now.

Things went perfectly on my iPhone.

Whats the problem with PP? Is it spyware, it can harm the phone? or people here are telling not to install it because it is not legal?

It crashes native apps frequently supposedly. I think that's the main concern more so than potential legality issues

Just a question: After upgrading to ios 7.1.2, you have to restore as a new iphone or can you restore your backup and then jailbrake with this Pangu?
