Those changes are really trivial. I would like to see some real changes that will boost iOS's functionality and productivity. Like a new keyboard that support swift typing.

I like everything else but make apps with more variations because every app that comes out these days is a flashlight.

hmm... looking back on it, skeumorphism wasn't that bad. Maybe people just wanted change so badly they overlooked the best of the UI.
That's more or less it for the most part.

Most of the important stuff seems to be under the hood type of improvements.

What kind of app is missing?

And you are aware that Apple is not the main app producer right? If you have a good idea, approaching a good developer with it is probably a good bet towards it getting on the app store.

Well, there's skeuomorphism and there is skeuomorphism. I like the kind that aids in functionality (the design of the tool is remeniscent of devices we use in daily life and therefore we intuitively know how to use it) like the one that Rogifan showed. But the notebook kind really bothered me in iOS6. There is probably a fine line between those two but iOS 6 had some very good but also very bad design.

Skeuomorphism does aid functionality, and it's a good thing. Anything else (leather bound apps etc) is not skeuomorphism, it's just ornamentation, and I agree it was way over used. Most of people bitching about skeuomorphism literally don't know what they're on about.

ETA: The slide to unlock shine is horrible and garish. Also in all these 7.1 betas, power off sliders are such horrid sizes. Too fat and short, the slider circle is not even concentric with the end of the slider! I thought with iOS they were ditching things like sliders (to unlock), so why is there (an ugly) one to power off the phone now? Weird and inconsistent.

Will have to give that a try later today, the male voice sounds like a right numpty!

Yes, the male voice does sound a bit "weak". More like a CBBC presenter than a butler like the original one did. The female voice sounds quite natural, but also quite plain - certainly not the sexy upper class English accent that you tend to get on things like satnavs and other voice prompt hardware.

That power off slider is completely random to every other slider on the phone, what are they doing, everything is getting un-uniformed, I want them to make the lock screen status bar the same as the main one on the homescreen

Now everyone with access to Photoshop thinks is an expert in UI... iOS 7 is years ahead in terms of design, get over it or get a plastic Android phone. Thanks.

If the build materials are the reason you buy iPhone over any other phone, then you are sad person. If you believe that Android are all plastic, then you are very blind and ignorant too. The HTC One Max is made out of Aluminium. I hate that phone though, as it uses HTCs crap & bloated version of Android.

The experience comes from the OS, as of today Stock Android (not Samsungs, or HTCs or any of those) offers a much better experience than iOS (and now is slightly ahead in the better OS race).

Also, you, and the rest of people in this forum don't seem to understand what a UI is... iOS7 has had more like a theme and style change, with very minor UI tweaks (infact, the UI remains 90% the same).

That being said, are you an expert to be able to claim iOS7's design is years ahead?

Agree with this. The small difference in status bar size is quite upsetting. As is the differing visual weight between the status bar icons, pre iOS7 they were so balanced...

I don't understand why they don't use the same 'button' for 'slide to unlock' as they will be using for 'slide to turn off'. It's so annoying that if i want to increase my volume when playing music from the lockscreen, I end up unlocking the phone. That's just bad design. Or make it at least so, that you can only unlock by sliding on the 'slide to unlock' sentence and not the whole screen.

For the most part, I like iOS 7, maybe a bit more then iOS 6, but there are still too many things that are uneven or sloppy.

i really dont get the changes in the dialer.

the top part of the screen is the furthest for the fingers to reach and the call button is at the bottom yet they move add to contacts and delete as high up as possible.

what exactly is the logical thinking there?

The changes to the two slide controls both look second rate. Small fonts and lack of contrast are amateurish mistakes.

This is what it looks like here:

The continuous tinkering with small details is something I love about Apple. Details matter and I expect Apple to care about them.

I would really like to have "mobile data" (I don't really know the name in English) in the control centre. It's the only setting it's worth shutting down to improve battery life. It's very frustrating to have that neat control centre and still have to constantly go through the settings menu.

I would also like Siri in my native language but yeah I know. Sucks to come from a place with only 10 million people. But hey Apple, if Google can do it, so can you.

changes with a purpose are good but changes for changes sake are the worst. like my "complaints" about the dialer. what improvement do the changes bring?

regarding control center then better yet let us choose what we want to fill it with. we are not all the same, we dont dress the same but all of us need only the same options in control center?

i dont know if apple is afraid to be shown to be out of touch by seeing what the users would do if they could easily customize more

These updates remind me of like, well the engine keeps exploding, leaving the occupants stranged on the freeway, but we have been working on changing the direction of the grain of the leather on the back headrest

So two more weeks gone by and that's it? WOW I really wonder what they do at Apple all day. I wish my project schedules were like that, add three or four little tweaks and call it a day.

Think about all the code that have to sift through to find and correct bugs. If the code was so simple they could fix say, one bug per day, then the bugs wouldn't have been there in the first place!

WOW! new slide to power off animation? This really is a major overhaull of the iOS. Cant waint for iOS 7.2 and a new animation for increasing/lowering volume.
