No more animation at app switching when Reduce Motion is on. The app jumps right into your face. Bug or feature, I can't tell. Apple makes crazy moves these days...
Feature, reduce motion now affects more places where motion is (or essentially was previously) present. Nothing really crazy about it, just Apple making sure that the setting actually reduces motion everywhere across the board, and not just some or most places, but not other places.

Can you clarify what MCC is? I just checked my email accounts and the one it keeps defaulting to is not my default email address, but maybe I'm not within the MCC you mention.

Thanks.
Seems like MCC would be Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars

its strange, with my ipad 4, the performance actually dipped when i upgraded to 7.1. this had me baffled, so after playing with a few settings i turned OFF 'reduce motion' (it was previously on) and now my ipad is running lickity split. hard to explain it.

EDIT: Whoops, missed the last page. My fault.

Strange, previous to the update it has faded/dissolved just like opening apps from the home screen, if I recall correctly. Why would they change it only at the app switcher?

I like the fact it made my iPhone 4 usable, but zooming wallpaper on wake is a BIG NO.

I believe it actually still had a regular movement/zooming animation before the update and the update made the "reduce/no" movement option apply there as well. It seems like the fading there is about the same as that when opening an app in 7.1, at least for me.

That has gotten somewhat more prominent in 7.1 it seems, and even the reduce motion option doesn't seem to have an effect on it either.

The iOS 7 interface is definitely more responsive in 7.1 than 7.0.x. Not sure how I feel about the changes to the keyboard, phone, and power off, but I'll give it a few days as it's nothing that I find immediately objectionable. Big test of battery is tomorrow.

So after a few days of using iOS 7.1 on my iPod Touch 5G and iPhone 5 I think I am pretty happy. I decided to break this down by device since each device is different (hardware wise).

iPod Touch 5G
Evey since iOS 7 my iPod touch due to its aging hardware hasn't been able to keep up with iOS 7. Most notably the RAM management, the iPod touch 5G, iPhone 4S, and the iPhone 4 all have only 512MB of Ram on iOS 4-6 this was sufficient. But the times have changed and these devices can't keep up with iOS 7, apps keeping have to relaunch because the devices are running out of free memory. But in iOS 7.1 I have noticed that this has improved which is a good thing :). I have never had a respring on my iPod touch since iOS 7.0 so I can't really relate to anyone here about that. But overall this update is a must have this is what iOS 7.0 should have been at the start. I don't really want to talk about the animations because to me they just made them faster and hence giving you the illusion that your phone is 'faster'. Just saying :)

As far as I can tell everything is just a lot more fluid and polished. Going from iOS 6.1.4 to 7.0.x it seemed like some of the UI was dropping frames. 7.1 I haven't felt my iPhone 5 become sluggish at all.

Yes they do. It's as though they're uncertain and undecided. Given the fact that they have a very accepting user base that seems to have no problems with buggy releases, Apple can experiment and see what the public will tolerate.

Fascinating to observe, frustrating to use. Given how common and under utilized vast numbers of iPhone's are, the seniors and kids only use a very small sliver of the phones capabilities. These users most likely don't know a bug when they experience it.

But wasn't that exactly what people where complaining about? Slow animations? And that's what they did, made them slightly faster!

You speak as there is such thing as bug free OS! Besides, not everyone is like Macrumors members! People get on with their life and have other things in their mind instead of complaining at Apple about the 0.5 sec slow animations or whatever else they may experience in their phones.

I really like it and my iPhone 4s is as good as new. I got my crack back panel fixed for $20 the same day so I'm good for while now.

The one where you can transfer money, etc? I do use that, but it's a pain having to enter your secret answer and certain digits of your password every time, just to check the balance.

Yes, unfortunately the fast balance app hasn't been updated in almost 2 years (still not designed for the taller iPhone screens!). Bound to be issues as iOS updates and they don't. Think they have abandoned it...

7.1 works alright on my iphone 5, but still animations speed are not optimized across the system, same was with 7.1 betas. Going in/out the app is quick, unlocking is still laggy to swipe or get into a phone app.
If 7.0 was like this in september than it's fine, but now it is simply not good enough.

Like many others have stated overall I'm mostly pleased.

The keyboard, phone and incoming photo are definitely a problem and don't seem to mesh with iOS 7 at all!? I wonder we're these changes planned/experimental/knee jerk or what!?

This keyboard is the opposite of iOS 7 NOT SEXY!!!

PLEASE CHANGE THESE BACK APPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't see how they don't mesh with iOS 7. I think they are just awful UI elements that replaced awful UI elements that replaced wonderful UI elements.

Loving it so far, battery life good and certainly seems stable. I didn't actually have anything to note about 7.0.x as it was ok for me too!

One thing and I'm not sure if I'm alone but does anyone notice occasionally they will get the refresh orb next to wifi for no apparent reason? Just did it to me and nothing was open or even syncing! Restart sorted it tho! :)

The ONLY bug I've had so far!

When you use 5 fingers to minimize an app, that was launched from a folder, on the ipad, it doesnt use the normal animation. The folder merely appears. This is as opposed to when you press the home button to do the same thing, the folder zooms into view.

very minor bug! iOS 7 is awesome!

i was really hoping they would have got rid of that nasty lag presented through the notification bar pulldown and control center pull up on the lockscreen as it has been there since 7.1 beta 3 (no lag whatsoever on 7.0) am i the only one experiencing this lag on the lockscreen? i am very surprise Apple didnt fix this as i have never experience lag like this on iOS and only Android. Not a HUGE issue but of course its something that should be addressed.

I am on a black iPhone 5 by the way.
