No you don't. Just an internet connection. I don't have Wifi on my PC 😛

I read that Apple releases the beta to carriers before they release it to the public. I am currently in China using China Unicom atm, so am wondering if Apple releases to all carriers around the world? Or select few - major/US?

What else did you expect? Why would a new beta look any different? The betas at most will have minor tweaks between now and final release. At this point they are focused on fixing bugs, not making big UI changes.
