Aybody else notice that the search bar in contacts/phone app is now persistent.

So instead of disappearing as you scroll up (or showing up when you scrol all the way to the top), it is now permanently there. Not sure how i feel about it. On the one hand makes it easier to search contacts and more likely id use search (before this i hardly used search because id have to scroll to top then search), on the other it leaves less space for contacts list on a 4s.

You can have it one way or the other. If you go to 'settings>safari>open links' you can chose wether you want the "in new page" or "in background" option.

Thanks for this. They must've changed the default for this in beta 2 as everything for me was opening in a new page all of a sudden, which was frustrating.

It's now back to how it was in iOS 6 - cheers

On another note, following on from a topic earlier in the thread, I love the increased translucency on the app folders. Makes the interface look so much better IMO.

It did that to me re: Safari links. It defaulted back to open as new page rather than in the background. Funny it was the only setting that changed when I updated.

Yeah, beta 2 reverted this setting for me too, but beta 3 didn't.

Both updates turned my Bluetooth back on though.

Amen.

I was wondering if this must've just been the things they just dint have time for, but nonetheless those buttons was actually a reason I had upgraded to iOS 6 in the first place.
Yeah, I can't believe they removed them. To tell the truth, they probably didn't really belong there, but there was no other place to put them in iOS 6. Now that there's Control Center, why not add it there? I'm sure more people would use it than the timer shortcut in CC. :/

Isn't the whole "3g, 4g, LTE" thing, just a US GSM thing? As in, it only differentiates between 4g and lte on tmo and att in the us since they started all that confusing faux 4g mess?

Thought it was always more clearcut overseas. Not sure about canada.
Yes, that's exactly it. I think Canada are stuck with the differentiation because they're next to the US.

----------

There used to be an option to disable group iMessage in iOS 6, I think. Still not there in iOS 7.

Really? I don't recall ever seeing that option.

Is anyone getting a random "enter you Apple ID and password" alert? It pops up for me then it will do the automatic download of whatever apps needed updated. Just started happening to me with b3.

Yes and now I am glad I'm not the only one! It's actually really annoying

Horrible font! Look how thick and intrusive it is on the home screen!

The SMC LTE is hitting the clock!

Mail notifications finally display subject lines again.

Notifications in notification center in general are a lot clearer. The gmail app for example shows nicer spaceing to make it easier to distinguish the sender from the subject line and message preview.

Holy crap how did u get your download speed in the 20's? I'm 6.09 with an iphone 5!!! On wifi

You ain't kiddin'!

This reminds me, has anyone used the carrier hack that's floated around which lifts LTE limits and other niceties?

I haven't tried any, but there seem to be hacks for many carriers out there. Just googled and found this one for ATT: http://www.itweakios.com/apps/blog/show/26414305-at-t-iphone-5-hacked-carrier-update

Could this be how the speed is increasing?

mind if i'm asking, i noticed that the color of the battery bar in some of your pictures posted are colored while some are just white. why is this happening? mine is white. can someone explain this?

Pretty sure it goes green when you charge it.

I really like the bolder font. The lockscreen looks nicer now, and both the notification center and control center stand out a bit more etc.

i see now. But it will be much more attractive if that bar is colored all the time. i also noticed that sometimes when i change to darker wallpaper, the clock, battery bar, and the carrier name will also go black. must be a bug i guess..

Just a heads up. Using beta 3 and having the new logo-spotify and it works perfectly without crashing.

I'm using iPhone 4s.

Edit: it only crashes when you adjust the volume within the app, bit who does that? I've always use the volume buttons, and that works just as normal.

we must know that, iphone 4 is getting far left behind. Apple are now focusing on the latest iDevice. who knows, the next update of ios, iphone 4 are no longer able to compatible with the updates. so, grab the latest iDevice..

Can anyone comment on the performance of the new build on iPad Mini? I found Safari would crash at the slightest load & watching videos online or through an app was out of the question because the app would just crash.

I downgraded to 6 just before holiday and a clean install is a bugger with so many apps!

Contacts Gone Missing

All contacts have disappeared using iPhone 4s and haven't returned with either restart or hard-reset.

Very frustrating has anyone figured out how to fix this?

edit/mark all/unread then edit/mark all/read...voila, did it for me.

We shouldn't be required to do these extra steps to remove the unread mail indicator.
The indicator used to work work correctly, but no longer, if you delete without reading them first.
