I bought the iPAd 3 on launch and returned a few days later. Couldn't handle the lag.

its embarrassing that Apple even released it to begin with.

glad i didn't buy the rMBP... they appear to suffer the same curse

I call BS.
I have an iPad mini, 3 AND 4 in the house (family members..not all mine)
and the 'lag' on the 3 is greatly exaggerated, if any.

The software is far from GM ready. I don't know if they can make that timeline.
I would think the Apple software engineers are actually further ahead than the betas they release. I'm also going on the theory that there are features that are being held back so that there are a few surprises on release day. Wasn't Siri left out of the betas for iOS5?

Curious - what specific bugs make you think it's far from being ready?

Hope they fix Safari in the next Beta. The current one's been crashing like crazy!

I agree with some of the posters. Beta 5 has quite a lot of bugs and to sort them out by next week Monday, and expect a GM build on Sep 5 is seriously just rushing cos of the iPhone 5S launch date.

And the icons are still very ugly. Especially Camera and Reminders.

Washed or Worn ??? We'd need video proof :D

Worn sock, because a sock does not become "left" or "right" until it is worn. A washed sock lives in a quantum state of both "left" and "right", until it is worn.

If these icons do turn out to be decoys and the publicaly-released version is drastically different, quote me on this and I will put up a youtube video ;)

there is most likely a lot of changes from beta 5 to 6 to the GM version so I'm sure its going to be ready by September 10th.

Your statement contradicts itself. If u thought there were going to be minor changes between now and the 10th, then u could say "I'm sure it's going to be ready". Not the other way around.

You're right, but I have two weird friends who have permanently marked their socks L / R

Anywho, here's to hoping the icons are redone by GM :p:D

Maybe Apple will surprise the users with some redesigned icons

I like the idea of having the bottom row have an inverted color set of icons with maybe a light border if you put them on the bottom dock. That would be pretty sweet IMO, and then you wouldn't need the frosted dock, which i'm not very much a fan of.

I can see why Apple don't want multiple user accounts - they'd prefer that families didn't share one iPad, etc.

But they do need a guest account feature similar to the one in OS X. People are always asking to check their mail/Facebook/whatever on my iphone. The problem is that I'm permanently signed into my work email, Twitter and Facebook accounts, not to mention Safari, photos, banking apps, Messages, a journaling app, etc. It's not that I don't trust people, but it would sure be nice and convenient to just have a guest mode.

Oh, I 100% agree, I would love for my phone to have a girlfriend mode, so when my significant other uses my phone she can't snoop :p

sorry i mean major bug fixes not actual feature and UI changes.

Shuffle artist

No, but I am complaining about the terrible look of the iPod app. Bundling all albums/songs by an Artist into one screen? Taking away the ability to shuffle all songs by an artist? Yeah yeah you can tell Siri to, "shuffle songs by System of a Down," but this shouldn't have to be the only way to accomplish this...

And has anyone else noticed pano-wallpaper panning get broken in Beta 5? Mine did. And that god-awful wait time for a reboot. *sigh*

I love iOS 7 don't get me wrong. This late in the beta testing, its the little things you can nit-pick and complain about. :D

You can shuffle songs by an artist. When you are looking at artists and tap on one, scroll up on the next screen. Its hidden under the search bar. There is a "shuffle all songs" option

I haven't used the iOS7 Beta but if according to so many of you it is still that buggy they should really push it back. Apple has pushed back software before (iTunes 11 was released way after the originally announced date and it still sucked).

The new UI will be a shock to some users who are not fond of change, if it's going to be buggy on top it's gonna become a disaster.

As someone who has been using beta 1 through beta 5 on 3 different devices

iOS7 has a ways to go before GM imo

Can you cite some issues that you're seeing?

I have had a pretty good experience. Most problems were in dev 1. And it was really about incompatibility with apps, which would make sense. I went back to 6 and waited until dev 4 came out before moving back to 7. The apps that weren't working for me before now are, and the system itself seems pretty stable.
