My battery has like gone down by double since i started iOS 7, maybe because it still has apps running? and using more battery? but let me know please

Right, I've narrowed this down. There IS a fault with iOS 7, certainly where the iPhone 5 is concerned and no amount of clean installs will fix it. It's to do with the WiFi.
If I switch WiFi off then my phone has brilliant battery performance. It lasts every bit as long as on iOS 6.1.4
However, as soon as I connect via WiFi the battery performance plummets. Something is wrong with the way iOS 7 handles WiFi on the iPhone 5 and only a patch from Apple will fix this.
How the heck did this not show up in the BETA testing?? Were they testing this new o/s on the iPhone 5S only??

Agree. My wife's 5 has had terrible battery life since I installed iOS 7 on Wednesday. It wasn't lasting more than 6 hours with normal use...and plummeted from 20% to 7% in about 5 minutes before shutting down.

Charged it up to 95% today around 6 pm...turned off wi-fi...and it's at 86% 4 hours later after some light usage.

I'm on a 5S now, which has been doing phenomenally with battery, but with my iPhone 5 running GM for the last week, I was actually noticing a great improvement in battery, especially with WiFi. Last weekend while home, I clocked in just over 9 hours of usage time limited exclusively to WiFi use (just about 8 hours with the screen on, 1 hour of iTunes radio). I had restored my backup from iCloud and did a restore all settings AND network settings just pre-emptively after doing my restore.

Up until 2 days ago I'm getting horrible battery life. I did another clean install and it's still like this. WTF.

Your battery life is fine. At your rate according to your picture you are goon to get 4 and 1/2 to 5 he of battery life which is ok but not great.

But I was getting better before. I don't know what has changed. It's not like I did anything different do you know what I mean? I'm now at 76% from the last time I posted.

I think you have a problem or something is killing your battery(obviously). Try watching some videos on YouTube to see what you can do with iOS 7 battery. If you want, go to the apple store.

My iPhone 5 has had terrible battery life since installing iOS7, but my phone has shut off twice at 28% showing the charge symbol. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

Battery life iPhone 4s

Is it really normal to get only 4 to 5 hours of battery life? I try to use many of the battery saving tips for my iPhone 4s, because I'd like it to last eight hours. Unrealistic goal?
Now with i OS 7, I have been looking for anything not in use to turn off.

Can dimming your screen make a huge difference?

If you have noticed a significant shortening of battery life since upgrading to iOS 7, then it is simply not acceptable. If after trying a clean install and disabling the new features the problem remains then there is obviously a fault with the new operating system. This is where I am at with my iPhone 5. I simply cannot beleve that there are some iPhone 5 owners out there who are experiencing no problems because everyone I know has serious battery drain issues.

Can someone please tell me how to do a clean install? My battery life is horrible since I installed iOS 7 and since I can't downgrade,I need to do something about it.

I have done two clean installs with no improvement and personally believe that the fault lies with iOS 7.

You can do a factory reset on your phone, all settings. Or you can do a restore through iTunes via USB. You select restore and then select set up as a new phone when the software has updated.

Make sure you don't use a 'back up' and instead reload apps and data via iCloud once you have set up your iPhone as a new phone.

Yup! But I find it really weird though, all through the beta I had some issues, which is understandable. I went to the GM and had better battery life. While on GM all of a sudden it went ape s***. This is really perplexing me..I finally did a clean install to iOS 7 again and no go. It's the same. Reset all settings, signed in and out of iCloud etc... brightness set to 1/2, location services off.

Really weird.

Did that. It's messed up how it didn't work.

Add me to the crowd that's seeing major battery drain with WiFi. I'm now keeping it turned off unless I can't get a good LTE signal at work.

Yep same and I'm on the 5S. Wifi def drains more than 3G for me. Sure it will be fixed soon. iOS7 is unfinished for me.

Well it's comforting to know that the 5S is suffering too. At least we know that this problem will definitely be addressed now!

Really though, what kind of a testing system do Apple use? This is amazingly bad. Releasing a half-baked and untested operating system???
