Apple's not going dedicated 2 hours of WWDC just for iOS 7.

Then again they could also discuss a radio service, an apple tv sdk, and updated macs including the drop of legacy mbps and maybe retina mbas. It's optimistic I know, but apple has gone through WWDC without launching and iOS hardware.

I hope the simplicity of it will allow it to run more efficiently, which will in turn allow the battery to last longer.

OK, OK, I just want more battery life. I have to charge my iPhone twice a day, I know I use it a lot, but it would be great if Apple didn't keep making it thinner, but included a bigger battery...

Well Mac OSX suffered when they pulled the team off it last time. It's every OTHER OS that seems to get the love. Seems like the first releases are half baked. Snow Leopard was much better than Leopard and same goes for Mountain Lion over Lion. I just wonder, since the next release is 10.9 - where do we go for the next release? 11.0? or maybe a 10.9.5 ??

I just hope that the iPad 2 will get iOS 7 since it can run any apps and games fine. Not sure why it didn't get Siri though.

i'm seriously starting to think of doing the same thing

Why did you wait until now? The only new feature, the air hover thing, is the same thing as a Note except even less precise since you only use your finger.

---

There isn't that much skeuomorohism in iOS except for Game Centre and the linen. The other apps like Find my Friends are optional.

I hope they don't change things like the Notes app or the general appearance of Reminders since it gives each app a distinct feel when working woth them. I even wish they would make some parts, like Calendar, more skeuomorphic to make it more fun to use. Right now it looks like a mock interface using X Code's template buttons.

I know they haven't done this with the iphones before... but they could do iphone release before ios 7 like they do with the ipads. they probably wont though :p

So iOS will deviate away from the OS X UI, or how should one interpret this? I thought Apple was about keeping things uniform. Hearing about any UI redesign from Apple always makes me sceptical, because in the end, it never happens. I bet any UI changes are minimal.

If they made iOS more like OS X, this could be considered a major oberhaul. Something as simple as a Dashboard screen (taken from Mac OS X) and some "flattening" and you have it. I think that is all most people want.

See my rough concept. (Ok, EXTREMELY rough, but you get the idea)

I believe it, that iOS 7 will have significant visual make over. But not because daring fireball says so. It just makes sense

What are those, widgets? Get outta town.

I know. "Bold" new UI. I actually think it would have more or less the Notification Center look, with the Twitter, Facebook, Phone and Message icons having either the minimalistic look the "Tap to Tweet" button does now, or this look:

I also think that you could put up to 4 quick settings/toggles there, too.

To be honest, I would rather the "Search" page go away, become a persistent Notification Center (which can still be accessed as it is today, and build the "Search" bar into it).

Hope it ships with a magnify glass.

I get it, but hope never to see it on my iPhone.

In this case I'd take some bugs to allow a jailbreak to happen easier.

That is awesome.

"I'd like my device to be inherently insecure and vulnerable to attacks from the outside world, just so I can download and run free **** I don't want to pay for!".

That totally just made my day.

How on earth is that your takeaway from this piece? Yes, iOS will see big changes. Yes, many of those changes will make their way to OS X.

And, by the way, Apple is not "about keeping things uniform." It is about good design and a good experience first and foremost. Uniformity follows from those goals where appropriate.

Just bored of reading about how *insert user* is thinking/planning to switch to another platform in every new post/thread about iOS/iPhone. Just do it already and get it over with. #NoOffence.

I'd gladly pay for a different keyboard if Apple would let me...

Also, your name is listed on the left. There is no reason to sign it at the bottom.
