My 6 has same issue. No service or touchID. So do we know the fix yet. Saw people did what they recommended and it doesn't work.

Any new suggestions?

I've tried this from every angle - restore from ITunes renders no action but to tell me 'are you sure you want to restore' - then NOTHING.

dead in the water...

has anyone found a way to go back to 8.0
Yes, take it to the Genius Bar.
They will fix or replace.

I roll my eyes because you spoke to an Apple support tech who deflected the blame off Apple and to the carriers and you believed him lol. At the end of the day its Apple's software and their responsibility everything has been tested and working before they roll it out. And again there is the touch ID thing, I find it hard to believe a carrier setting error caused it to stop working... but you go ahead and believe what the Apple support tech guy told you... I'm sure that was an unbiased explanation.

I don't give a rats ass what you find hard to believe, I'm just telling you what I was told.

are you on the latest iTunes or have you tried a DFU mode update, or another computer with iTunes?

I can't believe that Apple has not been able to push some kind of fix out for those of us who can't get to a computer to fix this.

That is pretty shocking you would figure they would at least an OTA to revert back to 8.0. It can't be that massive of an error that it takes days to fix..if I had to guess they'll post a bulletin on their website.

Do not restore option-click "check for update", point at iOS 8.0 ... viola!

Just downgraded two 6's that way

The update downloaded on my phone and I installed it when I got home from school. I am getting "No Service" on my unlocked iPhone 5 which is on AT&T, so I don't believe this issue is limited to the 6/6+

You can certainly roll back to 8.0.0 via iTunes and the links to ipsw files people are posting and that should fix it. You might still be able to roll back to 7.1.2 and get back some speed if you wanted as well.

The issue would be that the fix to revert back to 8.0 would have to be after 8.0.1. The iPhone 5S i have says iOS 8.0.1 is up to date, so in order to fix that 8.0 would have to be retrofitted to be the next successor to 8.0.1

It's not really fair to make this type of assumption without knowing what a downgrade would involve.

If you are going to allow OTA updates there needs to be a way to roll them back without plugging into a computer. They should just push 8.0 back out.

You could make that claim if it messed up one carrier, but when it messed up all of them, it tells me it was an Apple issue. All carriers do not mess up at the same time.

All carriers issue this carrier update. What part of this is not sinking in? The issue affected the new iPhone 6 on different carriers, not just one.
