See now this here? This is a problem, and pretty disappointing. The lack of qa/qc on this update is staggering. What were they thinking here? Is almost like they didn't test it at all

The 8.0.1 ipsw files will not work since they can not be verified by the apple servers

Rolled back to 8.0 via the links provided. Problem solved. Thanks everyone that provided links!

All carriers issue this carrier update. What part of this is not sinking in? The issue affected the new iPhone 6 on different carriers, not just one.

Apple are responsible for the update. Carriers just test what Apple give them. Clearly something has gone horribly wrong between the versions the carriers were testing and the version Apple pushed out today.

Ummm...really?

Apple isn't to blame for this, it's the users who kept begging for updates that weren't ready so apple felt forced to rush something out

Are you serious? They felt forced, so putting out shoddy updates isn't their fault? That's nearly as funny as it is stupid.

Try the old, "It's not my fault I didn't do that job correctly! I felt forced to rush through it to get it done," excuse and see how long you get to stay working there.

It just works.*

*If your definition if works happens to be a bent phone that doesn't make cell calls.

Then yes. It works.

C'mon Apple. You are better than this!

It's not my fault I failed the math test - you told me I had only 60 minutes to answer all the questions!

what a major screw up, this could potentially be putting peoples lives in danger.

Well, no. You know what puts people's life in danger? A maniac with a gun. Or a hurricane. Or a violent rapist chasing them.

While the failure of technology may disable certain useful things one could do (like calling 911), the failure of technology isn't the cause of the harm.

It's a bad bug. It doesn't kill people, though.

There is a problem with the update. A BIG problem! But ish happens & Apple isn't perfect. You can rest assured that Apple is on it and will have it worked out quickly. No need to get all bitter about it like Apple just ran over ur cat.

And if someone did an update to 8.0.1 not near their computer, and gets into an emergency situation where they need to make a call, or to receive a call from their child's school or the like, in that case will you accept that this might be a real serious situation?

OS X Yosemite is not good either.

Apple is now only the shadow of what it was.

Rather than investing massively in Developers to get robust OS8.1 & Yosemite, they do nothing with their cash.

It is the same with yosemite. With our I7 Macbook, it is slow and we often see the spinning rainbow umbrella & the program bounce all the time. It is UNACCEPTABLE have a downtime when my macbook Intel I7 launches Textedit.

Yosemite is slower to start than Mavericks. It is also slower to quit.

2 years ago, i would have never considered it but now i am enough about those Apple OS, its cloud and their problems too.

I see the day when i will switch to a Windows phone & a Windows 9 PC.
