Has anyone restored to 8.0? I'm downloading the 8.0 IPSW, which I may try and install if it looks like no quick fix will be coming, but I hate restoring from backup (what a pain) if it broke something that can't be rolled back (though I don't see why that would happen).

Also - some other odd behavior: The update wiped my device's name to simply 'iPhone' and when viewing it in iTunes, it recognizes it as a 64GB model, but the 'capacity' bar at the bottom shows about half full (this is correct), but only 8.51 GB free (as if it's normalizing it for a 16GB model or something).

ReInstalling via iTunes fixed issue!!

Updated OTA, AT&T US. Hosed Cell connection and Touch ID. Downloaded the developer file for 8.0.1 from Apple Developer Site, updated thru iTunes and phone back to normal with 8.0.1. I imagine that any update thru itunes would work.

I'm soooo upset! I was on the chat with the applecare support guy and he said "I'm sorry there is not much I can do right now, I'll have to have an advisor call you to solve your issue! Whats your phone number so we can call you.

UMMM MY FREAKING PHONE DOESNT WORK!!! HOW THE $%& are you gonna call me!!!!??:mad::mad::mad:

They better give me a free freaking case or a free iPhone 7 in 2 years after all THIS mess!

I wonder if yours is working because your on your MicroCell? I almost want to try it and see if it would work with my Network Extender (VZW's version of your MicroCell).

You're connected to a M-CELL. Wonder if that makes a difference.

I was wondering the same thing ... Just took a quick walk to leave the Microcell coverage area also turned off wifi and was still able to make a call and send an iMessage via cellular.

Good thing I looked at the forum before updating. I just spent $750 on a phone Apple, and your software messes it up. This is worse than early android.

Hmm, seems to be a more iPhone 6 related issue, right?

Cause I have no problems with my iPhone 5s (T-Mobile Germany) and my iPad Air, updated both before reading about that issues.

I guess I will wait updating my mom's iPhone 6 (yes, you read right: my mom already has a 6 while I'm still on 5s ).
Just send her an iMessage not to update, but normally she doesn't without calling me first...
