I hope they fix the bug where the top notification drop-down just doesn't disappear automatically sometimes.

It's annoying when you go to swipe it away and accidentally press it and go to whatever app is notifying you.

Pretty damn stable on my 6, have noticed some minor UI glitches here and there .. but nothing major. Only problem I'm having is with songs not deleting off my phone, when I remove them off Match on my laptop.. very annoying.

I've seen that too, while backing up my iPhone 6 to my Mac. It gets randomly hung up on apps that are updating/transferring from my phone to the Mac.

I have to manually "pull the plug" and re-plug again to start the process. Ususally works after 2 or 3 attempts. Crazy.

This happened to me when initially setting up my iPhone 6 with a previous backup stored on my computer. I had to manually pull the plug and plug it back in multiple times until it finally transferred everything.

I rolled back to 7.1.2 on my 5S.
Too many bugs.
Overheating.
iMessage sending twice.
AirPlay is broken
and that TERRIBLE iCloud Drive not working…..

Is 7.1.2 still being signed by Apple? I am looking to buy a 5s off eBay and it looks like most sellers have updated to 8.0 but i'd prefer to run 7.1.2

It's really incredible how quickly Apple is able to issue updates like this. This is why i choose iOS products every time. Apparently only Apple can do this, everyone else takes many months to issue an update.

Idiotic fanboy comments like this make my head hurt. Apple is no better than anyone else in this regard, they've been known to take MONTHS to even awknowledge they have an issue. This is actually one of the few times they admitted to issues right away and issued a fast update.

I agree

My post doesn't say anything of the sort. What it says is Apple has been working around the clock to address issues that have been discovered since the release build was issued. And as a result, they are in a position to issue an update incredibly quickly to improve the overall experience for all consumers. There has to be a cut off point for shipping because the OS needs to be loaded onto new iPhones before they reach customers.

On the Android side, you'd probably be waiting for many months before you received this same calibre of update for your new phone.

iOS 8 is a great release as far as I'm concerned. I haven't encountered any serious frustrations or issues. But I still think it's great Apple is working so hard to make improvements for the benefit of everyone.

I've been using iOS Betas since 2010 and iOS 8 since its first Beta release.
I've had no major issues, and any little glitches were fixed each time with the following beta updates.

That's the great thing with Apple, they do update when needed to fix issues, they aren't like Android. Nor does Apple have to try to update tons of different manufacturer's fragmented systems.

From what have seen is, Apple always trying to better user experience. There is frequent updates after a new iOS release, it's part of the process to perfect it in world wide use.

IMO no one does it better then Apple with their commitment to getting it just right! I have seen this with Apple for many years, especially since the first iPhone!

I'm sure an update will be here ASAP to address any widespread issue!
:apple::cool:

Is it just me or does anyone else also not encounter problems really, I really not encounter any battery drain glitch or any real problems everytime I do a clean install ot iOS and the next new version

really hope they are swift in releasing this first update. iOS 8 definitely could use some polishing

MAJOR problems with keyboard...
Sometimes it disappears. Sometimes adding back the standard one works; sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes Swype will not show on quick reply; sometimes it does. Sometimes there's just a blank place where a keyboard SHOULD pop up. Sometimes you're typing and it's not going anywhere... Sometimes hiding the keyboard & then popping it back up again works; sometimes you have to close out of messaging, then reopen it.

I'd like to see this addressed. Probably a joint issue with Apple & Swype.

This is pretty crappy behavior if true. Since it's Apple, I'm pretty sure this thread will go towards 1. responses like dumastudetto 2. excuses why this okay 3. deflecting by bringing other vendors into the conversation while ignoring Apple's responsibility. Hopefully by the time I get my daughter's 6 in November this crap will be sorted.
What's your solution? They should stop at 8.0 around Aug 31, and then not work on iOS until Oct 1 after receiving bug reports?

Your comment doesn't make much sense. Software has bugs. Companies generally try to fix them. It's a continuous process. You can call this an excuse if you want, but it's the reality of software.

So far, I'm a lot happier with iOS 8.0 than I was with 6.0 or 7.0. There was a disaster for my wife's iPad2 with 6.0 wifi (I think it was 6), and 7.0 was ssssllllllooooooooooowwwwwwww. I'm sure other people have different experiences, though.

I don't even know what people are talking about with wifi. My 5 was just fine on 8.0, and my new 6 seems faster here at work than any other devices have been. I just got the 6, though, maybe I'll see some of the reported problems.

I'm running 8 on my 5S. No problems at all on there actually, very sleek and smooth...on my iPad 4 however I have experienced a Safari crash or two. I echo the third-party keyboard issues though; both QuickType and Swype are poor so far and make me rush back to the stock keyboard... don't know whether they are running into inherent bugs in 8 or what, but for me that integration is not at all polished, whether it's more the fault of 8 or those keyboard developers.

I wonder if too much "baggage" coming from previous iOS backups (migrating) over to iOS 8 are SUM of the causes ... just curious.

So about that battery life...

Yeah, it's holding up pretty well so far on my 6! :)

When I unlock my 5s with touch id I get this weird white glitch in the animation as the icons from the home page zoom onto the screen. Its like a white bulge in the upper right of the screen. Only started appearing with ios 8. Has anyone seen this?

Yes. I've seen that a couple of times. It's all over pretty quickly but... I've got a sneaky suspicion that the white glitch is your finger, and the phone's camera is briefly getting involved with the display!
