The only issue I have been having is with Movie and TV Show art work not showing up and instead getting a grey box with the title in it. This problem started with the iOS8 upgrade. Some show up and most don't. And I've even tried using art work that works with one title, but still won't show up on a different title. Happens to both my iPhone 5S and iPad Air.

I have been checking the Apple forums, and others seem to have this problem with no fix. I've been leaving feedback left and right with Apple.

I have A LOT of movies and TV shows and spent countless hours picking the art work I wanted. I hope this gets addressed.

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have a weird issue with iMessage on my iPhone 6 where it will work perfectly for a while but then it will start to take anywhere from 20 seconds to 5 minutes to send a message. Just a message with text, even just a single word. This is over WIFI or LTE. It will continue like this for up to an hour before returning to normal. In the meantime the phone gets hot and battery usage increases. I'm getting about 5 hours on my iPhone 6 stock with no third-party apps vs 6 1/2 hours on my 5s loaded with third-party apps.

What's your solution? They should stop at 8.0 around Aug 31, and then not work on iOS until Oct 1 after receiving bug reports?

Your comment doesn't make much sense. Software has bugs. Companies generally try to fix them. It's a continuous process. You can call this an excuse if you want, but it's the reality of software.

So far, I'm a lot happier with iOS 8.0 than I was with 6.0 or 7.0. There was a disaster for my wife's iPad2 with 6.0 wifi (I think it was 6), and 7.0 was ssssllllllooooooooooowwwwwwww. I'm sure other people have different experiences, though.

I don't even know what people are talking about with wifi. My 5 was just fine on 8.0, and my new 6 seems faster here at work than any other devices have been. I just got the 6, though, maybe I'll see some of the reported problems.

Here's the thing JAT, as a consumer, I don't need to come up with a solution. I don't make phones. I don't make software. I am not a manufacturer. I am a consumer. If I am spending hard earned cash I expect the products I purchase to work as advertised. I do not expect for a product manufacturer to release a product with known issues AND tell me how great it is at the same time. If a problem is discovered after release, I expect it to be remedied by said manufacturer. The challenges faced by the manufacturer are a consequence of doing business. Not my problem, nor any other consumer's problem, including you. For me, it's simple. Is this product good enough for me to buy? A product released with known issues does not answer that question in the affirmative. Once fixed, the question can be posed again.

I am not a fan of any company. I am a fan of best product for my use case. If the issues persist into November, I will just have a sad kid. I don't expect perfection, but I definitely expect better than this. Everyone should.

What about getting kicked off the wifi every 10-15 minutes?
If you haven't updated yet- DON'T!

I rolled back to 7.1.2 on my 5S.
Too many bugs.
Overheating.
iMessage sending twice.
AirPlay is broken
and that TERRIBLE iCloud Drive not working…..

Apple dropped the ball on iCloud Drive. Their apps should have supported the file sharing they show on their website at release. They screwed that one up.

iOS 8.0 = beta 6
iOS 8.0.1 = beta 7
iOS 8.0.2 = beta 8

iOS 8.1 = RELEASE

This is how it should be done. Same thing with iOS 7.

BTW. I don't think it is possible to maintain yearly OS development cycle AND release quality. Sorry.

A year is an eternity in software, unless you do big bang programming, then it's your own fault.

They need to address the WiFi issue. Using the same WiFi router I had before iOS 8 and now my iPhone/iPad randomly lose Internet connectivity. Or the devices cannot find my WiFi networks.

bluetooth, ihpone 6 & 5S

Anyone having bluetooth issues? I cannot use either of my iphones with my bluetooth headset or in my car. Worked just fine before updating to new ios.

Still missing

HealthKit
Apple Pay
SMS continuity.

I can't get continuity to work at all... Maybe a dumb ?, but here it goes.. Do u have to enable Bluetooth for continuity to work??? I'm so used to disabling all of my antennas if not using something to conserve battery power!!??

Yes, Bluetooth must be on and the iPhone and iPad devices must be on the same WIFI network. You also must be logged onto the same AppleID on both devices.

Continuity won't be available for OSX until Yosemite comes out next month.

I don't think that 12A365 was ready for public release, but they weren't finished in time so had to release it then rush an 8.0.1 update out with all the minor bugs fixed from 12A365 plus hopefully the original 8.0.1 stage update.

I agree. I think 8.0.1 was ready, but there was too much other stuff which needed 'fixing', soon to be rolled into 8.0.1 as well... :apple:

Hopefully it fixes my ongoing issue with Bluetooth in my car. A call comes through, I can answer it, but audio doesn't play on the handset or the car speakers. Like the calls are active, but lost. I've resorted to turing bluetooth off all together until a fix is in place.

On the 4 iOS8 devices in my house each device seems to have its own set of bugs which is odd to me.

My favorite is when I define a word typed into Safari's title bar on my iPad and it crashes. That's a surprisingly hard habit to break.

The main but (aside from wifi) I've niticed is some UI glitches when rotating into landscape.

Are you getting black tabs when switching to landscape? I'll attach a pix later from my MBA because my LTE is so bad on my 6+.

I envy you. Based on your statement you've obviously never had to use a Microsoft product.

Because you just described every product MS ever announced & shipped -- every product they ship seems to have known issues, but MS marketing dept tells us how great it is anyway. :)

I assume at your place of employment your management expects the same from you? ;) and that you deliver each and every time without fail or adjustment of the derivable?

I'm thinking iOS 8.0.1 by the end of the month, 8.0.2 sometime in the first half of October, then iOS 8.0.3 to coincide with the release of Yosemite and re-enable SMS continuity as well as enable Apple Pay.

I use Microsoft products every day. For the tasks I need it to perform, the software does exactly what it's supposed to do. Others have different use cases so their MMV. In my quote I also said I don't expect perfection. No product is perfect. Can it do what I need it to do? Does that functionality justify my purchase? If yes, sold. If not, I move on to an alternative that does meet my needs. Most purchases, especially tech purchases, don't have an emotional pull on me. They are tools to be used. Nothing more.

I also said when issues are found I expect the manufacturer to correct the issue. I've owned 2 XBOX 360's. One RROD'd and Microsoft replaced it with my current one. Had it not been replaced, they would get no more of my money. I'm just pragmatic. If Apple fixes these issues, then I'm getting a 6 for my kid's birthday. If these problems are still prevalent in Nov, she'll be PO'd but she will hold on to that iP5 a little longer.

I have a 5s, and certainly experiencing keyboard freeze and issues when texting. Bummer. Hope they fix this. I noticed it instantly.

There is also a weird thing happening in portrait mode, when texting, if I swipe up with my left thumb in the left corner very quickly-- a small window appears for a brief moment with a toggle for on/off of predictive text. I cannot get it to stay and function... but apparently I do it enough to consistently turn OFF that function ! DRAT... I really like the new predictive text !

Anyone else see this issue? OR am I just doing something wrong?

The predictive text toggle should appear when you hold down the smiley face key. Swiping up quickly may be causing it to inadvertently pop up.
