Anyone else bored of endless iOS4.2 speculation? :)

I'd so give Steve a high five if they dropped OS X Lion right now. People would be having fits and MacRumors would be in tatters :D

LOL.

In fact, the iTunes store has also been dodgy for the past 24 hours... Checking for season passes, new updates, downloads etc has been wonky too.

Yes but how often can you get 'tatters' 'dodgy' and 'wonky' all into 1 post. ;)

Well, maybe its just a server overload due to the millions currently buying Beatles songs...

Although I've heard that Apple has a couple spare servers stashed away somewhere in NC ;), so server capacity actually should not be the big issue.

You guys realize there are other pieces of hardware between you and the Apple Update Server right?

It's never a good idea to go with a .0 release and since 4.2 is the first release for iPad of iOS 4 and who knows how reliable AirPlay will be or if AirPrint will even work, I think it is best if we all skip this update and wait for 4.3. Let's not be the guinea pigs here.

My Apps stopped update 2 days ago and still no any changes. I delete all iTunes on my iMac. There is no any changes. can it be happening because of that?

Quick serious question....

I'm running 4.2 GMb and iTunes 10.1 beta. When I updated to the official 10.1, it killed my ability to print to the shared printer so i rolled back to 10.1 beta. If I upgrade to the official 4.2, that won't affect the printer share will it? I imagine the 10.1 beta is driving that.

So what? There's that thing called redundancy, happily playing with its cousin "dynamic routing". And since we can access the rest of the internet just fine, the blame can be placed squarely at Apple's (or Akamai's) feet...

Exactly. Itunes is the key for AirPrint on Windows. On a Mac the latest OS update brings AirPrint support (with the hack from the latest dev beta).

Yes, I'm sure 4.2 will be released with no fanfare in the middle of the day.

In other news, the Apple Marketing Machine, generally noted for their highly scripted product announcements, has departed from their typical capmpaign strategy and quietly introduced the white iPhone 4 at the Apple Online Store, available for next day delivery.

It's down because they're re-releasing 3.2.2 but now with an included Beatles background!!!

^ Ok. Just kidding, but this forum had it coming.

It would be nice if it was 4.2. I already have a number of apps that already have new features that unlock when 4.2 releases. Apps like Baby Decks having iTunes access.

Like a pre-sale!

Check out The Beatles page on iTunes. Apparently if you buy a Beatles album this week you get 4.2 as a free download. Otherwise you have to wait till Black Friday, when it will be available to the general public.
