It's Here

The music servers are different than the software servers. The software servers, if you can get in, will install 4.2. I'm downloading now!

It's never a good idea to go with a .0 release and since 4.2 is the first release for iPad of iOS 4 and who knows how reliable AirPlay will be or if AirPrint will even work, I think it is best if we all skip this update and wait for 4.3. Let's not be the guinea pigs here.

I skipped iOS 4.0 for the iPhone 3G and was told it was a total failure. When 4.1 came out, I downloaded it, and it didn't take long for it to suck just as bad as everyone told me 4.0 did. I hope 4.2 is better for the iPhone users. I know most developers for Apple likely have i4's but hopefully if there were any problems with older phones, someone has found them and got rid of them. My phone has had touchscreen issues since the update, and it will not play music on my car stereo thru the USB to dock cable, but will on an i4 thru the same cable...Guy at Apple store had no clue to why either of these problems existed, especially the music part...

Yes, I'm sure 4.2 will be released with no fanfare in the middle of the day.

In other news, the Apple Marketing Machine, generally noted for their highly scripted product announcements, has departed from their typical capmpaign strategy and quietly introduced the white iPhone 4 at the Apple Online Store, available for next day delivery.

Yes, the white iPhone is coming.

To boldly go...

I feel like this is the ST:TNG finale where everyone is causing the server to go down because everyone is constantly checking it, but constantly checking it because it keeps going down...

On a completely unrelated topic; my cheese sandwich wasn't nearly as good today.

D.

DAMN!

This has been happening at least since last night. I wanted to restore my phone and that screen popped up. Several minutes later it allowed me to restore.

with the current state of the server reliability I do not have any confidence in getting a good download when and if it finally arrives 4.2 that is

It's going to be chaos; with all the different devices connecting to download at the same time. Remember the 3G release date on the same day as firmware upadte?

You are neither further from nor closer to the reality of which you have not yet reached. 4.2 is simply the carrot hanging from the string attached to the stick hung in the horse's view.

And apparently the only thing to eat are beatles.

Haha, I love how the ad on top of the page is for Clear and it says "Wait. just Kidding." xD

Fastest article update ever?

It was changed before anyone even posted.

Well, they try to post the updates prior to the article. :) It's like an ever lasting "tomorrow" that never changes. Like yesterday.

iTunes/iPad ten minutes ago (Austria): "3.2.2 is the latest software". Since then: "Server error". The message comes very (and suspiciously) fast after hitting the "Search for updates" button. Other iTunes jobs (app downloading) are working fine.

Edit: Tried it three or four times. One minute ago: "3.2.2 is the latest…" again. I think I'll stop that silly game for the time being.
