Not to pick a fight or get involved, but my wifey has dropped her all glass iP4 at least 10 times, on all sorts of hard materials and its in great shape. Also, I've never had an alarm clock issue, never once failed...fwiw

Every time I sync my clock will be out by an hour. Always. Yes, all my settings on my device and my computer are correct.

I don't know where people get the idea of "need to sign in every time on those 10000 google web apps"...have they ever touched an android device? I don't even use the web counterparts on my Nexus One because the google native apps are just too powerful.
One big feature that iPhone will never catch up: Gmail labeling.
Needless to say other features like Google maps navigation, Google music (that actually streams), voice recognition, etc

Some android phones take forever to receive updates solely because manufacturers take forever to push them out. The source code of the OS is always published shortly before/after release. It's up to the manufacturers to decide how long they need to produce their own version.
This is the reason why the Nexus line is always highly recommended.

If anything iOS is fantastic by itself. Generally pleasing UI, smooth operations, and (arguably) the app store. And yes it usually lags behind with certain features, but Apple will eventually implement them. It works very well for people who just don't want/can't tweak their phones.

But for other people who like to change things up a little bit, Android always provides us with choices.

I kid,I kid. :p

And of course, the obvious response is this...

ahh typical Macrumor fail

People ask for missing features and you guys still complain

Every update bring new features, don't know what you guys were expecting

Sure its not as revolutionary as IOS 4.0, but there is enough changes to warrant a new IOS number ( imessage, lockscreens, notifications, etc)

What you guys don't realize is that Apple has the complete solution - use your Android if you want, my iPhone Macbook Pro and iPad all compliment each other so nicely (especially with MobileMe, and now iCloud) that no competitors can catch up. The iOS is just one of a dozen projects they're working on concurrently which is contributing to the #1 COMPLETE solution

Android also has a very large ecosystem. The android ecosystem is just more versatile and has been on the cloud since day one. With android you are guaranteed something even your iPhone has not managed to do. Be 100% compatible with every OS. Want to use your android with a mac, you can, Want to use it with a windows machine you can. Want to use it on a Linux machine guess what you may. They are two different solutions to the same problem neither is wrong or right. It goes with peoples preferences. I bounce from Windows to Linux all day. Android just works for me. Currently I think google is going with a complete solution in a better way. They want to eliminate the hardware issues and place everything in the cloud. They want users on macs to have the same experience as users on Windows.

I strongly advise people who like android to buy android phones and stop worrying about what iOS has. Seriously, who cares? Talk with your wallet instead of trolling apple-centric forums. You think android is the bees knees? Good! I honestly hope you thoroughly enjoy using it. I happen to think its a crock of **** by comparison, but hey! That's why I don't own one. On a side note, I don't bother registering on android forums to talk about how much better I think iOS is.

This argument will go in circles and circles and circles.

Just one infinite loop :D

I wish someone would make a site called AndroidNerdRumors so all the android nerds will go there and talk...

I don't understand why they hang out here, it makes no sense. I don't hang out on any Android forums.. So I guess since they all hang out here there must not be any Android forums. why else would they keep posting here?

Seriously. Do Apple fans troll on Android forums? I'm almost tempted to join one just to see. I really can't fathom why on earth you'd bother joining an Apple forum just to troll. I guess when the food court closes at the mall, there's nothing better to do.

As a former member of XDA I'd have to say no. But no matter where you go and what you own, there will always be someone somewhere who's absolutely convinced that what they have is superior to what you own. It's my policy to ignore individuals who demonstrate that character flaw, as they're just insecure with their own purchase and feel the need to slam someone who doesn't own the same thing as themselves. Pretty pathetic, actually.

i rarely see folks installing Safari on Windows, but I do see a lot of the Chrome browser on Mac's, even though Chrome is based off Apple's toolkit

Safari for windows is really poor but will get better with 5.1 apparently.
Also safari in lion is going to be something else, i can't wait!

Also chrome for Mac is better than the windows version IMO so its no wonder you see it on macs.

Would you rather have everyone mindlessly fawn over every thing apple does? People whine when other companies copy Apple, its only fair to whine when apple blatantly copies someone else.

If you want to be a sheep you probably shouldnt be visiting any forum.

The difference is that on sites like XDA, users are more reasonable, even for fanboys. You rarely see something like "Apple = best. Period." like you would here. It is a lot more fun for forum trolls to troll blinded fanboys

+1 on this. a lot of people take the troll bait on here as well.

OK NOW iOS does everything Android and Blackberry did that was different.

But those guys still haven't caught up to iOS's fluidity and elegance.

Now who's playing catchup?? THEY are in fact the ones playing catch up once again.

iCloud is how I always imagined everything working together with MobileMe. ... After this now, it's over for ya'll. Checkmate!

I say we make a site called iPhoneRumors so I can enjoy my Mac discussion without having to have iPhones shoved up my a$$ when 1: I like iPhones, and 2. I have an Android and don't particularly care that much.

If you think the iPhone is absolutely worth the extra $285 ($200 + $35 activation + $50 tax in California), then I welcome you to paypal me $285 to replace my HTC G2 with an iPhone. I will happily take you up on your offer.

Since the functionality is just about identical for me (I know, I have an iPod Touch and am more than familiar with iOS), the only real difference would be that the texture in the notification dropdown is prettier.

XD

Yea whatever.

My phone hasn't spontaneously blown up, the apps rarely crash (although TuneIn radio likes to crash on certain radio stations), and Vanilla android is fairly consistent in its app design. The battery life isn't terrible either.

However I have a half dozen Macs and have been buying Apple products since 2001, long before the iPhone. I've been on this forum longer than practically everyone in this thread.

-_-

I don't appreciate the "don't like the iphone?! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!" attitude.

I likewise believe it is annoying to see a forum I regular filled with ignorant ill-informed posts about other products. New people come here and see some people make the most ignorant and stupid comments and then think that the Mac/iPhone user base as a whole is a bunch of idiot fanatics that easily give up their money without much thought.

Thankfully that isn't a common problem ^_^

I had an iphone 3g, 3gs, and 4 but i sold my iphone 4 for a inspire 4g and was that a mistake. Android is buggy and a battery killer with poor hardware quality, ios maybe behind on feature but in the end, it just works!! The only feature my inspire has over the ios is widgets and to be honest, i have grown to hate them because all they do is sit in your memory or run in the background which hurts your battery life. The apps on android arent supported by every phone like netflix i still cant get. Btw my adobe flash still doesnt show video only audio, thanks adobe for wasting my battery on ads.

You poor insignificant tool. Stop lying. I have an inspire and poor hardware quality is the last thing you can claim also my battery life is fine. I can underclock my CPU or throttle it up to 1.8Ghz when need be. Widgets or even apps that run in the background do not eat battery. My god are you stupid. Do you even know how android works. You control how your widgets gather information. Adobe flash and Netflix works fine for me so I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I'll give you polish of iOS UI but HTC Sense is just as polished and hardware accelerated like the iPhone.

I hope you have since switched back to iOS and relieved your Android device of its dumbazz owner.
